The beach is full of great bars and restaurants and many have chairs to use so you can spend some quality beach time. The beach is safe for swimming. Find a bar you like and watch the sunset.There is also a few late night places like Elvis to spend the evening.

Sandy Ground is an amazing Beach on the central area of Anguilla near the Valley. It is framed by cliffs at either end, beautiful clear water and a calm surf. The area is peppered with restaurants and a few shops. One restaurant of note is Roy' Bayside Bar and Grill (see separate review)

it's where a lot of the cruise ships come in but they have to dock father away because the water is pretty shallow at the dock. that's good because it makes the beach area great for swimming and the water is free of any debris. there are a few restaurants there but only dad's has beach chairs, so bring a big towel is you want to eat anywhere else.

This is beach with commercial stuff. Many good restaurants and with a nice view. If just hanging out on beach only there are many other beaches worth your time.

many restaurants and a couple of bars so good nightlife, but this is the main shipping port for the island so very busy. an Ok beaach but nothing to compare to shoal bay, rendevous bay or mead's bay. and there is a jetty (long dock) where the ships off load goods and you have to crawl under that (or go around it on land (quite a ways) if you want to walk the beach.

This is the place that gathers quite a few restaurants and bars and many of them have live music. Is a must to eat in one of them if you are in the island.

Great place to visit during the day... lots of places right on the water. At night, a wonderful place to have a terrific dinner. Small beach not as beautiful as some of the other Anguilla beaches but fun to walk along.

Great for night life on the island with Elvis's Beach Bar, The Pumphouse and Dad's Bar and Grill all offering something unique. Can hang there in the day and do watersports, catch the boat to Sandy Island, just swim, have lunch, go shopping at Bijoux.

When you go to a beach and all you can hear is a gentile wind and small waves slowly breaking, you have found a caribbean that is fast disapearing. I understand that Sandy Ground is more a night spot but it was nice to see the beach in the light of day. The way I see it is this is what the Caribbean once was. Slow, peaceful,... perfect. Come check this out.

We sat on Sandy Ground and watched the day's activities go by - we actually saw a custom boat being launched - what a sight to see . . .all the excitement from the locals who spent the last few months building it. Plenty of places to get food and drinks. During the day it's quite and peaceful, and at night its comes to life.

The most gentle wave I'll seen on a beach! May be other days are different but when we were there, the wave was very gentle and water was clear and warm. Love the cafe choices along the beach too.

This beach is always calm. There are fish that swim along the shore as you walk the beach. Starfish are seen moving below the water. It's quiet and very beautiful. There is now a little place that rents chairs and non-motorized water activities. The sunsets are a must see from this beach. Can't wait to go back!

Loved walking the beach here, and visiting the shipwreck. If you like collecting sea glass, we found more here than we have anywhere else in our travels. The beach is gorgeous and the restaurants excellent.
