Walking down Calle El Sol, we enter the Mercado Modelo. This is a 2nd story building full of gift shops, hand made articles, souvenirs and other objects wanted by tourists visiting Santiago. It also sponsored jewell shops (gold, silver) , authentic dominican gems (amber, larimar) but also fake jewellry made of gold filled stuff and stainless steel. The shops also sell wood made items, tobbaco, clothing and other miscellaneous objects.For those travelling to DR, who wants to have some nice dominican souvenir to bring back home at a fair price.
