The beach is not as wide as some resorts but I walked an hour to where I could no longer go and an hour back both to the right & the left of the resort. The beach is very clean until you get to the ends

Loved the beach, the water was awesome. Didn't like being pestered by vendors. I would recommend having vendors stay in one part of the beach, as most people want to just relax

Fantastic! The beach was raked everyday in front of our place at the Marbella. Quiet during the week but family fun on weekends .

sand is very harsh, lots of rocks and weeds in the ocean.....the ocean view from our 7th floor condo is very beautiful...beach was not busy during the week, weekends a bit more but still very quiet

There is some rocks, but the beach is nice. There is garbage near the beach too. The people seems to be ok with you walking on the beach and this is nice. Punta Cana is nicer, but the beach was the only nice thing in my trip.

If you're staying in Santo Domingo, it's worth it to go just a little bit past the airport to get to this beach. There is less tourism and crowds than Boca Chica, it's a quiet little town, the waves are great, and the sunsets are lovely. It's not quite as pristine as Punta Cana or the beaches of Samana, but location is quick and easy from Santo Domingo. Definitely recommend!

We booked horseback riding with Rancho Marino del Sol through Costa del Caribe in Juan Dolio Beach, DR. What a wonderful experience. If you are a rider, you will appreciate the wide, neatly trimmed trails and the delightful little Dominican Paso Fino horses. They are so smooth, riding them is just like sitting in a chair. The trail guides are attentive and always aware of your safety. Very accommodating. The horses are well-shod to protect their feet. When we returned to the barn, they were turned out for water and rest. We did see some trash along the way, not too distracting, since we were more interested in the tropical foliage and the ride itself. The trail guides took photos on the beach. Highly recommend. We would do it again. My husband is not a rider, but his comment: " I like these horses!" Pick up and return to your hotel. We suggest a tip for the trail guides. They were so nice and accommodating.

Crowded, Dirty, Unsafe.. What else can be said about Juan Dolio beach? It's an artificial beach, and dangerous in some spots. You may get an unpleasant surprise or two given that some beach houses dispose of their sewage out on the water. The only places on the beach that are worth going are by the hotel or private development areas, and that will cost you. My advice: Stay away.

The beach is the only thing that is actually good at this hotel everything else is not worth it. Like I said before, I wouldn't even tell my worst enemy to stay here, why should they suffer that bad. If a hotel could have no stars this should really be one of them.

Due to the deluge of beachfront apartments, most of the nicest parts of the beach already claimed, and don't you dare try and sit on any of the many empty beach chairs or the horde of friendly security will boot you out. But there are many unoccupied palm trees to laze under and couriers from restaurants to shuttle drinks, snacks, and whatever for you - for a fee of course. Lots of constant hawkers will get on your nerves, though, so be prepared and don't get swindled.
