This was a wonderful hour of our day trip by local ferry to Bequia from St Vincent. Its just a few minutes walk, taking a left turn when exiting the ferry. (You can also call in at the model boat workshop en route, also worth visiting). The gates were padlocked when we arrived although the door said open - seems this is usual - just call out and Lawson, the owner will let you in. The museum is small but Lawson who owns it is a master model boat builder and has such a story to tell of his achievements (commissioned, eg to build the Royal Yacht Britannia model for the Queen). He's a very humble guy and it was a privilege to meet him. Make his day and pay them a visit!

Hidden along a humble street, this museum is treasure. Met a former shipbuilder and his daughter, Amanda who gave an insightful tour on the boating life of Bequians. This way of life is sadly dying which makes this place even more important.

This was brilliant and the man who showed us round was outstanding - we were so pleased to see the boats he had been responsible for - wonderful woodwork
