It is just painting on the wall of mountain. If you are there, do not get too close - it looks much better from a distance. Although the painting itself is not so interesting, the views of the valley in this area are beautiful and therefore it is still worth to visit.

A fabulous tourist spot. The mural is amazing. There is a good restaurant and souvenir shop. Lovely walking country around it.

So someone (I asked a local and he just said "some people from Havana") went out to the countryside, removed the vegetation from part of a mogote (limestone formation) and splashed paint on it then added some very crude human and dinosaur forms. It's large. The locals seemed as puzzled by it as I was. More puzzling is that it actually gets treated as an attraction. Go to Vinales for the people and the countryside. Skip this.

A very big and colourful mural that was not really prehistoric. It was very well done and must have taken forever to complete, It is a long way out of town and we took a taxi, however we saw lots of people walking.

This is ridiculous and maybe therefore worth a visit depending on what kind of tourist you are. Naivist paintings destroying the landscape might be one of Celia Sanchez' worst ideas

Ok, when you are in the Vinales Valley you must stop and have a look at this odd looking, out of place mural. Dinosaurs? If you have access to a bike, car, scooter, horseback, you don't have to pay to see this mural. Quite visible from the road.

You can see this fairly well from road before you get to cliffside. Not worth a detour or an entry fee in my opinion.

i guess some people like to view it, but i thought it looked too funny. a prehistoria panting on a wall which was made not so many years ago. i guess it must be hard to draw a dino on stone..

The mural itself is nothing much. The surrounding countryside and mogotes (the type of mountains in the valley of Vinales) are beautiful though.

While the creator might be proud on this grotesque wall painting I am not. The great limestone wall in the Vinales valley was painted with figures of the past (prehistoric humans, dinosaurs, etc.).The painting looks like a sketch that a few-year-old would make in the kindergarten. It is humongous and covers a really big wall. It just dishonors the valley.

Somewhat surreal and bizarre. It's a huge painting very much out of place - but obviously something that is viewed with pride. Some people were hoping to see prehistoric rock paintings, what you get is a modern rock painting that represents Cuban prehistory in the Vinales valley. 5 minutes top to visit, there is a minimal 2CUC entry fee.

This is one of the most odd and spectacular sights in Vinales, do not miss to see it. I can not recall something like this somewhere else in my experience - a rock painted as a history of evolution. This mural painting is really a piece of art and I got very positive and happy impression of this visit. Just look at it, it makes you feel good. Usual cafés, restaurants, touristshops on the site, but it is possible to avoid them and just walk around the perimeter of a large green grassy field for better and closer view, or stand in the middle of it.

The paintings are not very good and for sure no artistic highlight, the subject of prehistorical history is visualized rather childish and stereotype. It does not add any knowledge to what is common known. The location though is very nice, and it is worth to walk 20 minutes up from here to the Mirador, from where you have a beautiful view at the valley, the lakes and the mountains. Here you can drink a cold cocktail and make a walk back to Vinales at the backside of the mountains, along a beautiful rural path.

This is a modern painting which bears the name prehistoric mural. It is nice to walk in the valley. The landscape is great. But is is not worthwhile to make a detour just to see the huge painting.

The so called prehistoric murals have, as they honestly admit on one of the plaques, in reality been painted in 1960. It is very a poor attempt to recreate the past. And although the owners (?) of the place profit handedly from all the busses that stop, it is a shame that they even charge an admission fee. If you can arrange your own schedule make a great berth around this one.
