We come here virtually every week to grocery shop and mostly just to escape the heat from outside like a lot of people do. Firstly give the toilets or CR's a miss, no toilet paper, no soap and it means there is a huge health problem straight off the bat. The air conditioner is really dodgy and not pleasant at times. The food court would have to be rated one of the worst on the planet. Beware. The escalators for many months were not operating a regularly until Mandaue Foam opened near by, then they were working miraculously all the time. The queues at the supermarket are legendary. An Australian supermarket operator would love to deal with those massive queues.Where does the little stalls get their water from, a question you should ask yourself? The individually owned stores are pretty good but any Gaisano run operation is pretty ho hum. But wait there's more, Outside to greet you on the grubby steps of the street ( which needs water blasting damn you ) are the imported Badjaos and other beggars here to annoy you even more. Thank god there is another mall opening soon, Gaisano Gaisano your unbelievable.

The whole mall sucks bad. There is absolutely no place to sit other than the food stores so u have to buy something. Navigating the stairs is horrible.. People use the stairs as a place to sit. It is an obstacle course. I have never seen so many clerks than in the hardware store and they all just stand around and no nothing. One till is open and lineups i counted with 15 people waiting and waiting. I finally put my stuff back and left. Why Filipinos put up with this crap amazes me. If i was the manager of the Gaisano Stores i would hang my head in shame and never admit it. But as others have said there is really no other place to go. No very friendly and accommodating place. People here have to demand a better class of store

I've been to the mall almost every day and enjoyed shopping there. It might not be the newest mall, it has its charm and i loved going there. Let me tell you why it's a great place to shop. The majority of items on sale in the mall is sold at bargian prices. The grocery store in the mall has this special on certain items where you buy one and get one free. Watsons Pharmacy also has the same special. An example of the good prices of the Gaisano mall retail department would be the Jag, Fubu, RRJ, Levi t-shirts starting at Php300 and up. Levi Jeans Php2999, RRJ Jeans starting Php800 and Disan Industy Jeans Php250. There are even t-shirts going for as low as Php120. There is also a toy section which sells the latest anime items, dc universe, kenner collection and small model ships and submarines at a good price. (Luke skywalker Php660, Guy Garder dc universe Php350, model submarines and ships Php150) I've included the prices to give you an idea of the bargains available at the mall. Gaisano mall has restuarants, Jolibee, Chow King, Greenwich and McDonalds. There is also many takeaway kiosks lining the center of the passage that also sells excellent food. The food kiosks that i liked the most was the hot dog stand, the sashimi kiosk and the fruit shake kiosk called Thirsty (the mango and banana shakes are the best) The mall has a cinema, pharmacies, retail stores, unisex hair salon, optometrist and a grocery store. The mall has two entrances, one facing the main road, and the other on the side road next to Tita Fannies. The secuity personnel inside the mall and at the entrances have the cool black and white outfits on and are always friendly. You will hear the Gaisano mall theme song played as you shop. There is always an abundance of staff, and you will always have someone to assist you. The staff are always friendly. What counts to me is the friendly atmosphere at the mall and the kindness the the Iligan residents - they are super friendly :)

Like the title says, we only shop here when we have no other choice. Unfortunately, that's probably most of the problem. Gaisanos are all run by different people and it's pretty well accepted that those running this one aren't too interested in providing any quality. The place looks like it was built in the 70s but it's really less than 10 years old. Individuals stores inside vary in quality, of course, but anything that falls under Gaisano's responsibility is in bad shape: Cockroaches everywhere, almost all elevators and escalators are always broken, tiles and walls broken everywhere. Also, many of the food vendors don't have their own source of water (or a drain). That means they all have to go somewhere else to get water to prepare the food and to wash dishes, etc. For at least some of them that happens to be the maintenance sink of the second floor. It's in with the restrooms, and it's the same utility sink used by the janitors (it's also where the men and boys pee if there's too much of a line at the actual toilets). Thankfully, a new Robinsons Mall is being built in town. They typically do a good job at maintaining a higher level of quality. I'm optimistic that once there's some competition, Gaisanos will have to up their game.

This is the FILTHIEST place that I have ever been to. I get my groceries in Pala-o now. The meat section of the grocery store sells meat that stinks of being days old. I tried it twice to find SOMETHING, and my fiance and I both got sick each time. The grocery store definitely has a supply problem because they have an item one day, and then not again for 2 weeks or more. The cashiers are extremely slow, rude, and not worth the trip. While you stand in line to check out, customers will have a family member still shopping, and keep dropping things on the checkout stand. They go back and forth into the store, making you wait even longer. The bathrooms look and smell as if they have not been cleaned for at least a year. There is NEVER any toilet paper in the stalls either, so I don't know what people are using to clean themselves off with. Most of the private and company stores are ok, but the grocery store on the main floor is to be avoided at all costs.Bajao, or imported beggars, line the streets around the mall, and pester you incessantly for cash, claiming that they are hungry. Young girls drag naked babies across traffic to get at you. Be aware that they are not hungry, and they are begging only for cash. That cash serves terrorists. They will not accept food. Interesting for someone who says they are hungry, yes?All in all, you get better customer service in a trash dump than you get at Gaisano Mall. Don't go there.

This mall needs to have competition to be challenged and improve. Obviously the mall is earning but management never tried to give back to the patrons thru better & quality services. (1) Cinemas - have improved slightly with 2D conversion but the programming is so poor playing films that are 2 years old. and where can you find movie screen that is 4:1 (square) size? Aren't movies shown in wide screen? (2) Cashiers have 2-3 personnel but only one operates & they short-change u without asking for your approval. (3) Restrooms - no soaps & toilet papers. The doors between the male & female rest room have a washing area where the Virginia Hot Dog stand girls wash their food handling equipment - yuck!! (4) Escalators/Elevators - non-functional. I do not know if they are actually broken or they just want to save power by shutting them down. (5) Airconditioning - its really hot!!! (6) Entertainment Value - no gimmicks!! At least they invite local celebrities to grace special events or hire bands to play..what can I say? ...if only we have other choice (nuff said)

A big mall but nothing's really interesting that much. Movie cinema dont show nice movies that much. The food court is dirty and the foods are pricey and crappy. And the restrooms dont have soaps that is very useful for the costumers when washing hands. The staffs of the mall are not that pleasant. Nothing to go to though so no choice.

Where in the world can you find a mall where "taxi" are not allowed to wait for customers at the exit? you need to pay a barker in order to get one plus pay for the labor to carry your items to the taxi because you have to walk at least 20 mtrs without shade. Most personnels are rude that they even talk and tease each other in the middle of the aisles and will not give way to passing customers pushing carts. And to top it all, They pack all your grocery items in the sack-like-plastic bag even if it will flattened and destroyed the items. It is obvious that Gaisano Iligan lack supervision from the higher management.

Iligan needs another mall... Any operator will do SM, Robinsons or Ketkai... I hope they will realize that Iligan is a HUC and is the 5th most populous city in Mindanao. It is the center for commerce for Lanao del Norte and the western part of Misamis Oriental...

Gaisano Iligan has the worst customer service ever. From all the malls that I've been to, this one far from reality. Their attendants are so rude and they really don't value their customers. Their management is disorganize esp on the cinema. They have two cashiers and yet only one is operating. They know that their are a lot of movie goers but they don't mind the long queue. CRAP! same also with their department store, lazy cashiers.. it takes forever to pay an item. If only I have a choice but sadly I don't have. It's the only "mall" we have here in Iligan, btw, I live on this marvelous city of majestic waterfalls with electric curtailment at waterless water pipes.

I come here regularly to escape the heat. I know this mall very well. The privately owned stores are decent BUT the Gaisano operated stores are rubbish. The supermarket is a joke. Cashiers in this modern age cannot distinguish between a debit card and a credit card. The meat and fish section should be closed down. The isles are over packed with goods and are too narrow to accomodate the crowds of people. Even with 35 checkouts the queues are long and tiring. In the department store things are a bit better but they have a shortage of cashiers which makes the shopping experience woeful. You can wait up to 30 minutes to get served at times. In there newish hardware store only one cashier is available - seriously pathetic.

Worst place to go!!!if only there's anywhere else to go in iligan other than this mall. Cant even relax on any of their fast food restaurants its so cramped and dirty. No hygienic proposition! The restrooms are dirtiest scummest restroom ive ever been.No soap provided for people who washes their hands regularly how much more for their employees who works on their food department??? As the saying goes "employees must wash their hands regularly" and no toilet papers provided...very cheap! The grocery section is the worst place to go...some of the cashiers and a supervisor assigned are so stupid and dumb...cannot even recognize a type of transaction regarding a credit and a debit card? Duhhh!!! Terrible customer service if you stand and wait at their registry lanes. Some cashiers are rude and mean. They will scold if they really want to...they dont even care if there are too many people standing in line and would not seem to open a new registry while you see other cashiers are too busy talking doing nothing at all. ...why would somebody hire people like this? No matter how many people go to this mall if there'd be 25 out of 100 experience terrible customer service....there will come a time that they will no longer go to this type of establishment who doesnt even care about what it means to have customer service satisfaction.

When I first heard of this place, i thought " just like the others", but NO!. Was I wrong. from in amongst all the other shops and buildings comes Gaisano Iligan. What a place. Plenty of food eateries and clothing shops ( my filipina fiance was in 7th heaven). And places just to stroll around. Will be my favourite for whatever when back soon. 10 out of 10 for place ment ect.

It seems that for quite some time the residents of Iligan City with its population of over 300,000 wanted a shopping mall similar to those found in other major cities in The Philippines. After several years of continuing construction " The Mall " opened, in stages, during 2008 and as of this writing this mall has been in operation for over 1 year as final construction and full occupancy nears completion. Although many travelers and tourists especially those from other parts of the world enjoy open markets and things more expressive of local and regional culture, I personally enjoy seeing what kind of products are marketed in more conventional stores and shops. There are at least two open markets in Iligan City that I am aware of. I have yet to explore the open market in Pala-O and the Iligan Wet Market. These are something I look forward to on a future visit. The main entrance to Iligans Gaisano Mall located on Roxas Avenue is straddled by fast food franchises Jollibee and McDonalds. On the ground floor just inside of the main entrance is a circular area reserved for public presentations of entertainment, arts and culture and other such events. This mall provides a favorable getaway from the outdoor tropical climate as it is fully air conditioned often providing welcome relief to residents and visitors alike.Nationwide retailer " Gaisano " is the anchor store featuring quite a wide variety of products and merchandise including a supermarket style grocery item section. The many other stores in this mall typify those you would expect to find in a shopping mall featuring items that cater to the Philippine market. The food court is now in the process of opening up with quite a variety of different style food offerings. There is a Red Ribbon Bakery shop on the first floor. You will not go hungry at this Mall. There is an amusement arcade at one end of the second floor. This state of the art 4 story Mall is equipped with elevators, escalators and stairs. On my visits to this mall so far I have found it to be sparkling clean and well maintained as construction continues in the remaining few areas to be occupied. Two of four Cinemas opened in May 2010 with the other two scheduled to open soon. There is a multi story parking lot adjoining the building, an overhead cross walk off of the second floor balcony area in the front of the building to make crossing busy Roxas Avenue simple, safe and easy and affording some good views for taking pictures. Uniformed security is provided at all mall entrances and throughout the interior of the mall. There is ample public transportation at the main entrance, always available.I have had several pleasureable visits to the Gaisano City Mall in Iligan City and look forward to many more in the future. It is in my opinion that the residents of Iligan City who have been waiting for years for something like this to happen are finding this Mall well worth the wait.
