This Macapacal Bridge is one of the landmarks of the city so if you are a tourist this bridge is a good photo opportunity especially at night..but careful of the large vehicles esp. with truckloads of timbers pass this bridge..

Before, there was only 1 bridge that connects the east and west coast of butuan city, it is called Magsaysay Bridge. This is very old bridge that it is always in its repair mood, until early 2000 when this suspension bridge that will alternate the existing bridge was conceptualized and later on built. During the day, many joggers made DMSB a busy area, and in the night, it is refreshing to see its lights in every post. Many groups of friends, couples, families, just spend late afternoon in the bridge.

The Diosdado Macapagal Suspension Bridge is the first suspension bridge in Mindanao that was inaugurated last year, sometime in 2010. This structure is the most modern of its kind that can be found in Butuan. When a vehicle passes by, you will feel as if you are being cradled up in air or as if you are making it through a hanging bridge. The locals usually make this a hangout at night. Just be sure to make it before curfew.
