Located around the trivandrum big temple, this is a vinayak temple. No dress code necessary to visit this place and it's maintained clean. There're a lots of people offering coconuts to Lord Vinayak. Someone was offering a 1008 coconuts to Vinayak, and it was a treat to watch the continuous coconut offering.

A very important temple for all devout Hindus who visit Trivandrum. It is crowded during the celebrations. Parking is a mite difficult but it is okay if you are there before 8 am.

The deity is Ganesha, the God of obstacle removal. He has a fat body like a Sumo fighter, but with the head of an elephant. His father Lord Shiva did not like his behavior once and chopped the head. After that he forgave and placed the head of a little elephant just died. (The first plastic surgery in Universe? Sic). Ganesha is font of food and travels on a mouse. It is believed that if you pray, he will remove all obstacles. The Pazhavangadi Temple of Ganesha is in th4e heart of the city next to Padmanabhaswami temple. The Ganesh in this temple is believed to give you instant results. The offering is mainly coconuts. You can see a lot of coconut vendors outside the temple. there is a big stone in front of the deity where you have to break the coconuts by throwing them. If you are good at bowling, you can seek the help of the guys standing there to pick up the broken coconuts from the pit in front of the stone. There are other offerings also for which you can buy tickets from the counter. One thing many people do not know is that the owner of the temple is Indian Military.

Like: Nice and small but famous temple. Blast away your obstacles through the coconut rite!Dislike: Gents cannot go near the sanctum sanctorum wearing jeans/trousers.

This is a unique temple. There are three Idols in the main sanctum sanctorum. all of them viewable at a time. Idols were decorated beautifully and felt a divine feeling. The main offering is breaking of coconuts. Anyone can offer according to their capability. There were plenty of people who were breaking 108 coconuts at a time. Coconuts are available for purchase very next to the temple. Me and my wife visited this temple on 4th Jan 2015.
