immaculate conception cathedral

Amazing that such a great Cathedral could be found in this part of India.. The surrounding garden was lovely and worth walking around to have a look at the area as well. I was fortunate to see during a service there.Do visit!

One of the oldest churches in India, started by the Portuguese and standing strong through successive colonizations, this ancient structure is impressive and gaily colorful. On most evenings it is a pleasant break to walk across the large premises and admire the beautiful murals, sculptures and tapestries, and on festivals a ritual of blessing and purification.The road opposite the church is equally impressive during Christmas, when all sorts of clay toys and idols for the Christmas crib are lovingly laid out by the roadside sellers. Lights and lanterns of all hues and colors make this my most favorite spot in Pondicherry during the season!

This is a beautiful cathedral and is a must go for seekers of peace. The entire atmosphere is soothing and is a must go for tourists,.

Pondicherry has some beautiful churches and this is one of them. We went there in the evening and the mass was on in Tamil. The interiors were beautiful and the church is definetly a must visit.

It is on MISSION STREET ( before Rue Dee La Cathedral. The statue of Jesus really cute. Next is Bisops house. It is a must for all.

VAle la pena tomarse una hora, visitarla con tranquilidad y sentarse y admirar todo lo que ella encierra. Una meditacion en este lugar tambien es posible. Imperdible esta catedral.
