A great little island for some ultimate relaxation. You can find really really basic huts from as little as 250Rs to resorts in their thousands. Rent a bicycle and you can get round to all the beaches fairly easily. If not they have buses and rickshaws. Swimming is only good when the tide is high due to the coral and rocks that surround the island. Beach One was my favourite, absolutely stunning with white sand, fallen trees bleached by the sun and sea, and the aqua blue sea. Sunrise was probably my second favourite, in a cove with trees sweeping over the beach so lots of shade. Although lots of rocks in the sea they were smooth and large so it was fine. Don't be put off by beach 4 by the jetty, when the tides in and you walk further past the tourist section it was be really nice. Beach 3 there is no chance for swimming really, although it is pretty. The town is small but has some great little cheap restaurants to eat from. And loads of great local places to get a decent breakfast for only 20Rs. What I was shocked at was the state of rubbish, considering the Islands seem to make a fuss on protecting wildlife both on ground and in the sea. The beaches are littered with rubbish and it can be really disgusting and off putting and would stop me from staying on there. And swimming in the water having quite a lot of plastics and rubbish float past you was awful. A lot needs to be done here. Although your opinion of a beach can be different from one month to the next, when I first went to beach one it was clean and beautiful, when I went nearly a month later either due to the full moon, rising tides, or the fact it was windy and the sea was quite choppy, the beach was very different. Covered in dead coral piles and Rubbish everywhere. I understand how it would be difficult as a lot of the rubbish comes from Thailand and Burma but when a daily clean up this island can be saved. I was, and still am, shocked at the state of the island and their filthy dirty beaches. The people on the whole are friendly enough and I did really love this quite Island with its quiet life style. Everyone tends to rise early, and go to bed early.

One can cover most of the places in half a day, the water sports here is dependent on the high tides so better to do it elsewhere like jolly buoy..

Calm and serine, the blue and green shade of water will surely make you mesmerise. Not so many places to visit but you can spend quality of time here as the place not much crowded. For quality of stay and good food is far limited. Even your travelling with personal car or three wheeler is expensive, no internet no WiFi, My BSNL moblile was working but no edge or gprs was available. Which made my trip to Neil a dull one. But if you have a trip to andaman for a week you can make a visit here.

When you disembark from the ship at Neil, you know why its named so(neil = blue in Bengali). Crystal clear turquoise water and silver white sand beaches will make your day. Much less crowded than Havelock, this is the place to be if you like calm and quiet vacations.

Visited all the beaches in a single day and let me tell it was just awesome... crystal clear water , deep blue sea and the beautiful small island...

We were going to give it a miss but am so glad we went. It's soooo beautiful. Best coral life in Andaman. Less crowded than other beaches around Andaman. Best place for taking a glass bottom boat.

This is a very small island with a few beaches - some serene, some active with water sports, and some just perfect for quiet stroll. You will need a vehicle to travel on the island - or you can hire bikes/cycles. Blue sky, blue sea and the islands lined with greenery will surely mesmerize you. If you don't plan on covering a long list of attractions in Andaman and just want a relaxing quiet holiday - I would recommend Neil island. However, it does have beaches like Bharatpur which has water activities or shops to buy memoirs or nick-knacks.

Blue sky, blue ocean, corals and seaweed intermingling, pristine white sands, lovely greenery- all and more to see at Neil Island. Its just about an hours ferry ride from Havelock Island and is a must visit. The roads and shops beside resembles west bengal suburb but the beach and sea looks like Mauritius !
