I was surprised when i first saw this shopping center. It is inspired by Spanish colonial arquitecture which makes it beautiful and elegant. It is a great open space to spend some time outdoors walking and embracing the city culture, there are also great restaurants and stores. Comparing it to other shopping centers with a similar concept this one outshines even the Domain in Austin. Pretty cool.

Had a great time walking around great shops. However I was very disappointed to find out that a restaurant that had the "we accept VISA" sign acually did not take credit cards. Being my first day in Guatemala and had not exchanged yet. I asked prior to inviting my friends and I was told they did take cards... not the case at all places. After we eating, I was told we need the business so that's why we say take cards. We had to come up with money to pay. Last and only purchase there.

I'm not much of a consumerist nor a "mall person" but Paseo Cayalá is worth a look if you are in the Capital. It is an open air, surprisingly well-done "mall" with a brilliant view of Guatemala City. One can simply stroll through the area without shopping and this is the 1st mall that has several well-done churches. I particularly liked the Byzantine style church with blue domes and trim and a taste-full interior (this is a mall, so I was a little surprised). It appears to have a shop for every luxury brand and the bank was truly unique--I couldn't decide if I was in a disco or modern church. See the photo herewith and decide. It has a nice view of the capital.

This is a wonderful shopping and restaurant place. It is like a small city with beautiful architectural design. Go at night, it is lively, safe and beautiful to see.

I have been to quite a few malls in the US and this place will match or beat all I have seen. It is very nice, pretty and worth going to see if you are in town and have the time.

This is one of the newest shopping malls in Guatemala, it's like a small city, beautifully designed and filled with upscale shops, lots of dining options and lots to do for the kids. We visited with my children 7 and 9 and they had lots of fun at the canopy, riding the train and riding the beautiful carrousel. We had lunch at Tre Fratelli and then artisanal gelattos that where simply delicious. There is also a playground. There is a lot of security everywhere and this might be one of the safest places in Guatemala. There is also a residential area, a movie theater and during the holidays there was a ice skating rink and it was beautifully decorated.

Amazing place, beautiful place, scenery, architecture. European influence. Great food. Safe and amazing views of old Guatemala City. Must see when in Guat.

Beautiful NEW built Paseo, or the Rich, creating safe place to live, lovely to walk around and plenty of restaurants to eat at, from Swiss, Italian to Breakfast (Saul, excellent!). We are visiting in December, they even have an Ice Rink and we yet have to visit at night time when all the Christmas lights are lid.

This is a new area that blends old-world village square with modern money. It's actually a self-contained walkable area set apart from the rest of the city, which is both clean and safe (some things that are not to be taken for granted in GC).The area has a large assortment of restaurants, stores, bars, wine bar, coffee shops (at least 3), movieplex, ice-skating rink, church, large square for stuff, several kid-friendly play areas, etc. It's open format makes it great for walking around and gives it a town square feel. That it is surrounded by greenery and is slightly elevated gives it an old-world charm. There is plenty of (paid) parking. In short, it's a great place to go for the day or evening as a couple, family, or group. If you've been looking for a safe, clean place to go in GC that provides lots of options, is kid-friendly without being family-dominant, and is safe, clean, and comfortable, this place should be on your list. I regret to say that there appear to be very few places like this in GC, especially at night. We were told by locals that this place effectively replaced 4 Grados Norte, which has gone seriously downhill due to the rampant drugs and crime, with a gentrified, isolated version. We were warned away from that area (and Zone 1 and walking anywhere except Zone 10 and 14 at night and even then on well-lit, well-populated roads). It's a real shame, since we like to wander in the old parts of town.

This is an amazing place. Safe, secure, full of shops, Groceries, cinemas and on and on. Well located and away from Downton. With amazing parking space. And controlled and secured by my many, many and many bodyguards and security personnel. Restaurants. All types. And most of them good. Expensive though. Entertainment. Yes. Plenty. Just walking around is enough entertainment plus the exercise. Plus a cinema. Shopping. Huff. Yes. They have that plus some other stores to pay bills, go to the bank etc. To get here is very easy. But be aware, lately the traffic is way too much. The last two times we have try to go to “Paseo Cayala” we had to change plans, as it was too congested. Then we went somewhere else. Forget about Sundays in the morning. Don’t really know why but is almost all the time blocked by a race, or something.

I am SO VERY PROUD of the modern loook Guatemala is taking. Paseo Cayala is the MOST beautiful, elegant and exotic shopping center in the city.As you walk in, you take in the soft colors that make this place so elegant. Designed as a city in itself, you really feel as though you walk into a different side of Guatemala.

Cayalá is a purpose-built private city on the outskirts of Guatemala City. The "city" is a safe and secure place to relax with friends and family and has shops for all tastes, restaurants, a cinema and other attractions. I recommend Saul as a great restaurant to eat at. You won´t be disappointed!

After visiting great places in Guatemala I must say that ending my visit in Guatemala City and spending a half day in Callala was a very nice ending; although it is still in construction this mini-polis has a lot to offer for a Saturday or Sunday walk, very diverse good to excellent eating and for now only few high end shops. The construction theme is basically in the Spanish colonial style with wide beautiful stress and the Basilica in construction will be a beautiful building really worth visiting.
