The Salisbury Zoo is a truly amazing zoo for a small town! Our family had a fabulous experience because of the amazing zookeepers, Ian, Ann and Lauren. The zoo is a nice size with a fabulous variety of animals that are clearly well taken care of and loved by the staff. The park is a beautiful setting in the trees along the water and the meandering paths are nice to walk. There is really a nice assortment of animals there to see! Ian, Ann and Lauren clearly are great at their jobs and love animals and take fabulous care of them! They made our family's experience there over the top wonderful and we really appreciate them and their hard work and dedication to the animals they take such wonderful care of. Thank you Ian, Ann, and Lauren! Elizabeth and her family.

Small old fashioned zoo, with too small cages full of sad animals living out their pathetic lives in captivity.Hidden in one corner of the central Park this relic hasn't stood the test of time, time to get some more land and expand the property or close it down,

A well regarded zoo.Small enough to see without tiring children, the physically disabled or seniors and large enough to show a lot of north American animals. The educational opportunities are abundant and Ben's Red Swing playground adds an extra treat.

Definitely not a big city zoo but a frat place to wonder and relax. Several play areas for young kids and a great walking path. Picnic tables also available.

While certainly not the same as a large city zoo, it's fun and educational, especially for younger children. Has facilities for picnics and surrounding area offers paddle boats and structured play areas. Would recommend for a visit, especially since the animals most featured are those from the area.

Generally a great place to visit. Play area is nice, lots of animals, walking trails and other things to do. Typically can find parking unless a unseasonably warm day and it is very busy. Clean.

What a wonderful place to wander through with the grand children...or just by yourself. Quite a variety of animals, and they have recently made adjustments and it's easy to see everyone in an hour. It's a free admission, although there are donation boxes at the entrances. If you enter on the east end of the zoo with children, when you get to the west end, there is a lovely playground and picnic area for the kids. Walking back through the zoo, you can check on the monkeys and the flamingos again on your way out. ( I often visit when the grandchildren come to visit)

We go to walk around zoo often in warmer weather. We live about 1 hour away and tend to schedule all appointments on same day which sometimes leaves us some time to wait between appointments. I enjoy walking around the zoo. Beautiful wooded area with nice displays. No it doesn't have my favorite big cats but the animals are fun to watch. At the one entrance is Ben's Red Swings a large children's playground with lots for the kids to do. It is a little tricky finding it if you aren't familiar with Salisbury but its worth the effort.

You wouldn't think that Salisbury MD would have a great little zoo on the river that was free would you? Well it exists! Take some time with the family or a group of friends to wander around and see the numerous exhibits.

Great little park zoo that is free, has a great many animals for a small zoo but very nice. One entrance has a large play area for children that may keep from ever seeing the zoo itself as they will not want to leave. Lots of picnic tables and grills for public use and idea in summer and winter is a great walk thru too. Kids ill love this place and families too. May local college students frequent this place for jogging and frisbee, or to walk a dog in the dog park just across the street on the East end of the zoo.

Really enjoyed visiting this zoo, although it was hard to find. You can give a donation at the entrance. Spent a couple hours here.

Nestled in the Salisbury Maryland city park, this zoo specializes in animals living in the western hemisphere. The zoo is an accredited institution. It is very neat and clean. The educational materials are all exceptional. Most important the animals are well cared for. The zoo is an important center for the families living in this regional community. After visiting the zoo visitors should visit the Ward Museum located at the other end of the park. It specializes in carved birds, about 3000 of them. The museum is world class and a nice compliment to the zoo. A half hour from Ocean City Maryland the visit to zoo and museum will make for a great day.
