This trail has a very nice view of the Potomac River and of Alexandria on the other side. It goes up and over the bridge which has interesting views and some exhibits about the history of the area. The trail continues very far up into Washington. It is mostly paved and very easy to navigate.

This is a great walking and biking facility connecting Alexandria and National Harbor. It is a very long bridge and the 10 lanes of traffic is extremely noisy when walking across the bridge

On a clear day, you can see National Cathedral, Capitol, Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and other significant DC landmarks. This is the 2nd place place in the DC metro area to watch flights takeoff and land (Roaches Run fron northbound GW parkway is #1). Where else can you bike/walk/run along a wide protected facility that runs parallel to an interstate highway and enjoy historic markers along the way, plus fun destinations and distractions at both ends?

On a clear day, you can see National Cathedral, capitol, DCA, Shrine of the Immaculate Conception...all over DC. Bikes beware of bumpy joints. A unique transportation wonder - how many other US interstates have a wide parallel trail like this? Be sure to allow time to visit National Harbor and Alexandria at both ends, and read all the historic markers along the way.

Wonderful bike riding or walking path between National Harbor and Old Town Alexandria. Just enough stress to make you feel you are accomplishing a workout. Totally safe with concrete barriers from traffic and high enough railings. You will really notice the effect the glass sound walls have on road noise once you cross over to the Virginia side.

The Woodrow Wilson Bridge Trail provides a superb link between Alexandria, VA, and Maryland's National Harbor over the Potomac River. It offers spectacular views of Old Town Alexandria, Reagan National Airport, and the Potomac River.

If you're new to the area, or just want to get out and see something different; I would recomdn this Trail. Round trip, average 6miles (roundtrip). If you are starting from Oxon Hill, I suggest parking at the Park Police Station near the new Casino. There is a sidewalk/bike patch that will lead to the bridge. The walk leading to the bridge is smooth with some small inclines. You walk along the road, leading to the National Harbor. Once you get to the overpass, you are presented with a lof of markers expalining the history of the area. If its very informative, and something that every person should know. The walk long the Bridge and Potomac River is very enriching. There are benches and overlooks along the path so there is no obligation to walk the entire bridge. I found it to very relaxing.Though you have cars passing by, you are set back enough that you don't feel in any danger (at least we didn't). The path is heavily populated and there are security blue lights available if needed. And the great thing is, if you want to stop for a bite to eat, the Naitonal Harbor is right by.
