We went to North Point State Park hoping to experience a relaxing few hours at a waterfront venue. What we found was the parking far from the beach, the beach was mostly under construction ( the park was upgrading the beach and rocks that jut out into the bay), and noisy groups of people barbequing and partying. There is a secluded pavilion off to the side that can be rented and a pretty trail that leads to rocky outposts that are perfect for fishing or sitting on while the bay water laps up gently against the rocks. Our cell signal was perfect on the outposts but if anyone of your party has mobility issues, I would not recommend this spot. I did not take the longer trail, so I cannot comment on that. Also the visitor's center looked nice from the outside, but it closes at 4PM, kind of early, so we could not comment on that either.
