Some adult family members and I decided to check out the River Packet on a whim one afternoon after living in Chestertown for many years and hearing about others' positive experiences. There were 2 options available on the day we chose - a "snack" cruise from 1-3pm for $20/person or dinner tour in the early evening for $40/person. We chose the snack cruise and highly enjoyed ourselves! We boarded around 12:45pm and enjoyed a view of the Chestertown harbor from the bow of the boat. There is a cash bar for guests to enjoy. Also, free crackers & chips were available. There were children and teens on our cruise and they seemed to enjoy themselves, too. I would recommend bringing a light jacket even on a nice day because of the breeze.

I grew up on the Chester River. It's hard to understand the beauty of the river until you have seen it and experienced it. The Packet is an incredible way to experience it. It's relaxed, comfortable, and easy. It's the next best thing to having your own boat to slowly cruise up the river, drinking a tasty beverage, listening to great tunes. Thank goodness the Packet is here to get people out on a beautiful river that is iconic of the Eastern Shore.

We spent this past Sunday on the Chester River Packet boat for their Sunday brunch cruise. Excellent food and a wonderful cruise down the Chester River. There is seating inside and outside but since it was a gorgeous day we spent most of our time up on the top deck enjoying the sun and scenery. The Sunday brunch tour lasts about 3 hours. They also do sunset cruises on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I understand that there will be additional cruises on weekends when there are special events in Chestertown. If you are looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon (and enjoy some great food at the same time) we would highly recommend checking this out.
