If you love beer then this is your place. Micro brews from light to dark. No food though,,,,,beer only but you can take in food if you want. We did this for HH before dinner at Blacksmith. Great place to have a drink.

This place is cozy and we had a great time. They have cool different live bands on the weekend. Bring your food and enjoy great beer!

I stop in here every time I'm in town or on way to Ocean City, MD. Latest visit during Labor Day weekend had me confused, girl behind the bar "Ignored" my wife and I, to the point of me stating we'd like some service...while she stood right in front of us cleaning glasses and filling others growlers. Another employee whom I've seen in there before, finally gave us service. Now, if and when I stop here again, and I receive terrible service, I'll get my growlers filled at other brew pubs in Ocean City...its a shame, Burley Oak has some very good beers.

Come for the wonderful varieties of very local beer. Many of the ingredients are from farms I know. You can get a root beer here too. You'll need to BYOF - Bring your own food, but it is not a problem. I've been a customer since they opened and it only gets better.

Great place for a rainy afternoon great wait staff. Brain has a hit on his hands as you can find his brews in most local establishments.

I was in the vicinity, I had read about the Burley Oak on a beer Web site and decided to stop in. I sampled five different beers from a wide variety of choices. All were excellent and fine examples of their respective styles. The bartender who served me was friendly and knowledgeable. When I complemented the owner/brewmaster, he was very appreciative. Too bad I live so far away or I would be a regular.

A lot of craft beer bars and breweries can have a very elitist feel if you're not a regular or you don't rate beers based on things like "headiness" or "mouth feel." However, if you sit at the bar at Burley Oak you will be comfortable and impressed. I go to Burley Oak once every few months, but I wish I could go once a week. The staff is extremely friendly. Teddy, the bartender, was such a friendly, welcoming person while I was there. I could tell she was working for passion more than a paycheck. On to the main event, the BEER! Which is incredible! I tried most of the beers they offered that day and they were all so great and so different. I'm not a beer expert, but a lot of breweries seem to have a specific aftertaste that transcends their beers. Not Burley. If you're in OC/Berlin, go to Burley Oak. You'll thank yourself.

It there's a place in heaven serving craft beer, it's probably modeled after Burley Oak. Set in an historic cooperage in the "Coolest Small Town in America" has a great ambiance as well as the welcoming kind vibe that immediately makes you feel at home, no matter if you're a regular or first time visitor. Of course the most compelling reason to visit is their always delicious craft beer. Bunker C, Rude Boy, Locale and anything on the nitro tap are my usual favorites, but they're all good in their own right. A trip to Berlin isn't complete without stopping into Burley Oak to check-in with the crew and check-out what's newly brewed. There's frequently live music in the evenings courtesy of a variety of local bands (and some pretty good musicians passing through). Watching our sports teams play one of our favorite the "offseason" (Labor Day - Memorial Day) activities. Burley Oak does not serve food, but they welcome their guests bringing their own food or having a pizza delivered to the bar. While having a kitchen on site would be convenient, I prefer the BYO policy. As a rule, we will bring food that's better than the typical bar food fare and in the offseason there's frequently an pot luck feast that appears on any given weekend (while watching a Redskins or Ravens game).

My wife and I spent my birthday weekend in OC. I always enjoy local breweries so we decide to take a short drive to Berlin to sample the brews.Nothing fancy here, just beer and that's good unless you're looking for something to snack on while enjoying the beer. No food or even a bad a chips. Oh well, the beer's worth the shrt drive then go into downtown Berlin and have a bite to eat!

Tried all 12 of their available brews. 11 of the 12 were delicious. The triple IPA (awesome sauce) was extremely good, as was the wit it and quit it.

My boyfriend and I visited here on a tour of Eastern Shore breweries. I've had several of Burley Oaks beers before and am a big fan. The taproom is really nice and behind the bar you see straight into the working brewery. I wish they gave more tours! We weren't able to make the 3:00 tour time so having some more options would have been nice. The beer selection was really good and we just so happened to stumble in on a bottle release and got our hands on a bottle of Ruder Boy!

Burley Oak makes a wide variety of beers, and a tasting can be quite informative as well as fun for a group. The tasting room is a bit out of the way but there is ample parking and the sampling glasses allow one to try different brews without bloating! What is missing is a menu for food to try with the beers. less than 20 miles West of Berlin is Tall Tales brewery. I found Burley Oak to be the better brewer, but Tall Tales was quite good too, and it had a full range of pizza and other foods to have with the beer in a very nice venue.

This up-and-coming brewery gives free tours at 3 pm on Sat and Sun's, and has a very good assortment of flavorful beers on tap. They do not serve food, but you can order from a number of restaurants that will deliver there, or you could bring your own food in. The taproom is centered around a long wooden bar, with glass windows looking into the brewery itself. There are some tables to sit at, a nice leather couch, and a section with t-shirts/sweatshirts for sale. They have growlers you can buy with the beer of your choice for $18-22. They also do $2 tasting portions of any beer they have on tap, so you can make your own flight. Note that almost all of their beers are very strong (high ABV%) so the buzz will creep up on you pretty fast. The bartenders are all very friendly and usually are the ones giving the tours too! They have an outdoor seating area available for summer and smoking. We have been there 2x and will continue to go back and bring others too.

We were told at the visitor center that there was a brewery in Berlin and we asked if they had a root beer, Yes! That's always worth a visit. What a sweet tasting bar with other informal seating for taking some time with your favorites. They charge $2 a piece for whatever number of beers you want to try in your flight. The names are crazy funny and descriptive. One beer was 9.1%! Man, I bet that's something. We paid $3 each for a full glass of their root beer and we were both very impressed. More carbonation than some brews we've tried, which I enjoyed. A nice rounded full flavor that stays with you long after the taste is gone. Highly recommend this brewery. Very friendly bartenders also.

We stumbled upon this place here on Trip Advisor and had to try it while we were in town. They had a nice variety of beer and my girlfriend and I each found one we loved. There were plenty of people coming in and out that were also enjoying the beer. One of the coolest things about the place is that all of their glassware is for sale and they look awesome with their tree logo. They also have nice, high quality shirts that we also purchased. Overall this is a must stop for beer lovers. Be sure to bring extra money with you for some merchandise!
