Shallow and calm for at least 1 km out. Perfect for families with children. No surf or undertow to worry about. You can let them run loose while you nap or read a book!

A very peaceful spot to watch the sunset. Our dog was allowed as well and he even met other dogs there. It was fun!

A terrific Bay beach. Unique shoreline. And worth the wait every day for picture perfect sunsets. One of the most photographically ideal locations for sunset shots.Good parking and access. Lots of friendly folks there each day taking in those breathtaking vistas....

Very little in the way of visitors in late October so taking sunset photography was no issue. No parking charges at this time of the year.

Skaket Beach is perfect for families with small children. When the tide is in, the water is shallow with very low wave activity. When the tide is out, you can walk a mile out on the flats. The small tidal pools abound in tiny hermit crabs and are great for toddlers to explore. Great place to watch the sunsets. In the off-season, locals like to park and eat lunch. On clear days you can see the Provincetown monument in the distance. Relaxing.

Like all Cape Cod beaches, Skaket offers idyllic views and a serene environment. It is a haven for beach lovers but easily accessible too. It is clean and well suited to family's and couples alike.

We went here early, set up and watched the kids play in the shallow water. It has a slight smell, as it is on the bay side, but the kids loved it. You can find clams, hermit crabs and horseshoe crabs, too.

We have been coming to this area for the past 25 years and find this beach to be the best for all ages, clean sand with lots of little pools left behind when the tide is out for kids to play in.

Love it during sunset and when the tide is low. You can walk the flats and enjoy the beautiful sunset. A definite stop for anyone visiting the area.

We arrived at 9am on a Labor Day weekend Saturday, after our drive into the Cape. There was plenty of parking (and in fact, to address parking concerns, the lot didn't fill up until close to noon), and it was so peaceful that early in the morning. The beach is small but during low tide, there are tons of "pools" for the kids to play and splash in. The water was warm and inviting. It seemed like a "locals" beach and we really enjoyed that. There's a snack bar and great amenities too. We will definitely return to Skaket.

Safe water, lovely sand, rock pools, space, pretty sand dunes lovely views, toilets, small cafe/shop. Loved it.

The sunset here is spectacular. Great beach for young kids, but don't expect waves on the bay. Neat spot to explore at low tide. Get there early, parking is very limited but if you take a bike it is not far off the bike trail.

Also, enjoyed this beach it was small and very family friendly. We arrived at 4 and parking was free starting at 4. Plenty of room to swim, play or relax on beach. The beach and parking area was clean.

Located on Cape Cod Bay, the waters are clear and shallow and warm compared to the ocean side of the Cape. Skaket Beach is perfect for children, and they'll love it when the tide goes out. The wide sand flats are easy to walk on.Beaches on the Cape Cod Bay side take a little planning, especially during peak season. Parking lots are small and often require permits purchased beforehand. At Skaket, parking is $15 a day, but the parking lot only holds 175 cars and regularly fills up by 10 a.m. on sunny days. Make sure to get there early or risk waiting in line at the admission booth to find a spot.On the other hand, after 5 pm the admission booth closes, the day-goers head home and the sunset watchers show up. Catch a low-tide at sunset for an amazing experience. The concession stand closes but the bathrooms stay open.

I can't claim to be an expert on Cape Cod's beaches but having followed reviews and visited some of those recommended I can definitely say that this beach was the most outstanding. The view of the bay when you pass the restrooms and the food kiosk is stunning and if you walk to the right past the crowds clustered here you will be able to find a peaceful place in between the dune grass that fringes the shoreline. After a doze in the sun there is plenty of space for ball games and long walks. There is also a lovely little creek to explore. We took a picnic and spent a perfect day there. The parking charge is $15 for the day.
