The lighthouse is a bit out if the way but holds so much historical value that is worth the visit. The view from around the lighthouse is great. Certainly worth the time to visit this location.

because it is elevated you'll get a perfect view of the island and beyond, the golf club in one side the beach on the other, perfect for a postcard.

The view from Sankaty Lighthouse is truly amazing... a panorama of golf course (now), cranberry bogs and ocean. We had the scene to ourselves and had a sense of the vastness and loneliness this place held for the keepers of the lighthouse many years ago.

Good place to end your Sconset bluff walk, interesting to read how they had to move it due to erosion and how erosion is still affecting the area quite dramatically. The lighthouse also makes for a good backdrop for pictures although you can't normally go up it.

My wife and I enjoyed getting here, but it not well-marked. We drove mopeds--a little adventuresome but not bad in after prime-time tourist season due to decreased traffic. We enjoyed the view around here--it's also next to the Nantucket country club which is pretty--especially in the Fall. You can go from here to Siasconset beach which is prototypical Cape Cod, and a resting point.

Almost didn't find this lighthouse as not signposted but found it anyway! It is situated at the end of a dead-end road with room for about 4-5 cars. There is no charge for parking and you cannot go into/up the lighthouse but worth a quick photo opportunity.

High on a cliff, overlooking the Atlantic, you'll find a piece of Americana to check off your bucket list. Some opt to take a tour bus to make the visit, we opted to ride the winding 10mi Polpis Rd trail from downtown Nantucket. The Polpis trail is a nice alternative to traveling the 8mi main st route that runs alongside the busy road. You'll have an easier time locating the lighthouse if you have a map from the bike shop as it's tucked away behind beautiful seaside homes.

This lighthouse is situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean on one side and a golf course in a gulley on the other. I appreciated the displays explaining the glacial topography and why the lighthouse hadn't be moved in 2007.

Ten minutes, if that, and you are on your way. Nice view, read a sign about the lighthouse and that is it.

Walk on the path on the bluff above the sea, on the edge of well-kept yards, about 30 minutes to the lighthouse.

The lighthouse wasn't open to the public, so we just walked around it. The lighthouse is well kept, but there really wasn't much to do except take photos.

We drove our scooters out here from old town. Nice drive, nice views from light house looking over the bluffs. Very scenic.

A must see, When we were on Nantucket such a Beautiful day for us, on tour to see such a beautiful lighthouse on the island of Nantucket

This was part of an island tour. The lighthouse was moved to avoid collapse from beach erosion. The cliffs continue to erode endangering beach properties. The history is outlined on placards. Nice views of the island.

Take a tour of the island with a guide, Gail's Tours are the best. She is a local 6th generation Islander. She takes you out to the lighthouse and the area. You get a feel for the Island besides the downtown area
