We walked all way there only to find it is only open until Oct! Didn't see that mentioned on any of the advertisements we saw. Very disappointed.

The tour guide was dressed in pirate and speaking with pirate accent which made the experience very intriguing. There are lot of new things that I learned in this place, you should definitely check-it out if you're around !

Its a great tour. It was a part of the package deal we got and this tour was so worth it. The guy that gave the tour was delightful to listen to. He was engaged and gave plenty of good information. He was also very personable. It was a great attraction in Salem to learn a lot about pirates. The museum is very orchestrated. Absolutely enjoyable.

I visited here with a group, the displays looked a bit dated and could have used a good dusting. The tour guide was knowledgable and did a great job, the tour took about 20 minutes and was informative. There were 4 staff members in the gift shop area and I couldn't help thinking afterwards that one of them could have gone through the exhibit with a dust rag. The kids with us were complaining of the musty smell.

Should have guessed from the size of the building that there was not much here. They could do so much more with this theme. Best room was the entry hall (in the tour), all else went down hill fast. Would have enjoyed looking at the genuine artifacts but they hustled us to the Disney-esque rooms. Guides were good but couldn't pull this up.

If you like pirate history, this is a must see. Very nice displays, and worth the money if you purchase the combo ticket for this museum, the witch dungeon, and witch history. This was my favorite of the three, it was the longest and most intricate.

This museum was a part of our combination tickets for two other popular attractions in Salem. I actually had no interest in this place what so ever. I am a fan of pirates, I guess I was just being too cocky. We walked in five minutes prior to the guided tour. We were the last of the tours and they did not make us feel rushed in any kind of way.The staff person did very well and was very informative about each exhibit that you experience inside. I think there was about six displays. Each one was unique to the story. He was also willing to answer any kind of questions you had. We have done the pirate museum in the Bahamas twice and I feel that I enjoyed this one so much more

Ok, first of all. You have to like pirates to enjoy this museum. I dislike it when people give a bad review of a place that they really wouldn't have enjoyed no matter what! My sister-in-law and I love pirates, and anything historical, so this was right up our alley. The tour was longer than I expected, and I found it very informative and entertaining all at the same time. Our tour guide was dressed as a pirate, which I rather enjoyed, and the artwork and scenes portrayed were catching and enjoyable to look at.

Good history review, cute for kids. The mannequins could use a little dusting and upkeep though. The attraction was pretty short as well.

After reading other peoples positive reviews we decided to give it a try. It was a complete waste of time and money. If you are looking for actual Pirate trinkets and memorabilia there is very little of it here. The "museum" consists of a number of really bad mannequins in period costumes. There's a tour guide that talks about specific pirates and pirate history. Nothing you can't learn from Wiki or Google. It's very dark in some areas so the visual affect is very poor. It could even frighten young children. We actually ducked out and didn't even stay for the whole tour.

The New England Pirate Museum was fun and interesting. Our tour guide was a good presenter, funny, and friendly. Do you know the difference between a pirate and a privateer? Do you know who Thomas Tew was? You will after this tour. It is not a very long tour so you'll have plenty of time to visit other museums in Salem on the same day.

We purchased the Combination Ticket for $19.00 which saved us $6.00 and the New England Pirate Museum was part of the deal. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was fun and interesting. Our tour guide was dressed like a pirate and told the group tales of various pirates's fate through history. I would recommend this. There are stairs and it is dark. It may be scary for young children.

My husband and I really enjoyed the New England Pirate Museum! Our guide (I wish I remembered his name) was so informative and enjoyable to listen to. The actual displays were nice, a bit worn (some) but for me that didn't take away from the great experience. I liked the Pirate ship replica and we navigated as if we were walking through it. Oh yeah - the very end is the BEST part too ;) Good time!
