It is magnificent and the stones engraved with letters from Vietnam soldiers to their families are poignant and hit hard at the stupidity of war.

Have lived around Worcester and worked in Worcester, total of 45 years. The memorial was/is misplaced in creepy Green Hill Park where all sorts of crimes have occurred over the decades, the playground for the children that is left has gaping sides the tots can fall off of, and 3 animals left at a zoo that used to be thriving 40 years ago. Part of the memorial goes out of public sight, which is quite dangerous in this city.

It's not really anything extraordinary here, but if you've been to Vietnam, or simply known about Vietnam War, this will be another story. Given the fact that I've been to Vietnam, and had learned a lot about Vietnam War from the both sides, visiting here really moved me, especially after reading the letters from the one who never came back from the battlefield ... War, even for the winner or the loser, still leaves deep scars behind.

Nothing exceptional or extraordinary, but it's clean, well-maintained and quiet. Nice to walk around wondering.

I absolutely love taking guests to the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Green Hill Park. It is lovely, moving, peaceful, serene and eye opening. Please, take the time to show off this gem to all.

Its just a well thought out and inspiring remembrance in an interesting assortment of venues. The Place of Names, Place of Words and Place of Flags all in solemn respect. The walkway and the pond offer a place to reflect on the experience offered. Well maintained I would ask anyone who hasn't been to go and if your coming to visit the city for whatever reason you should make time. So much fuss over or recent warriors take a minute to offer some respect to those who were not.

This memorial is a wonderful place to visit to remember our veterans who never came home from Vietnam.Letters written by guys from Massachusetts, who were killed in action, to their families back home are inscribed on huge granite pillars. They are tough to read because one can see how hopeful these men were to return home to their families.I have been there many times and I read each and every letter every time I visit. I have attended the memorial service held there every Memorial Day. The veterans who support this place deserve top credit for a job well done.Unfortunately there has been a problem with litter and vandalism by some who just don't understand or appreciate what it is all about. It really is a beautiful place that should be visited by all.

One of the great things about this Memorial is that it is offers both a sense of Place, as well as a sense of Sculptural Presence--thanks to the materiality and placement of the Memorial's massive Standing Stones. The various groupings of vertical monolithic granite blocks at the Place of Names and at the the Place of Words offer a powerfully solemn and moving experience. The Place of Flags at the entry of the Memorial punctuates the visit with a beautiful trellis of flowers and the poles of towering flags. The pond at the heart of the Memorial Site--in addition to the walkways through the woods--offer inspiration for meditation and contemplation. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial of Massachusetts is well worth the trip to Worcester in any season--whether it be the snow-covered winter, the flower-bursting springtime, the colorful fall, or the hot sultry summer. May we all remember those who have fallen from Massachusetts, from that period and place of the Vietnam war. Thank you.

I went to Green Hill Park on a whim to walk around and enjoy the gorgeous weather. I saw the memorial and almost didn't go over to it. I'm glad I did. It wasn't just a list of names. There are letters from soldiers engraved in the stone. It was so moving especially when you take note of the letter's date and the lifespan of the soldier. Very often the soldier was killed a couple of days after writing that letter. :( Each letter was a snapshot in time and gave a very unique perspective of the war. I'd recommend it. The memorial is also a good place to sit and meditate or walk around and think (it was scenic and very quiet).
