Free tour with knowledgeable guide. Interesting way to spend a half hour or so learning about how Mary Baker Eddy discovered Christian Science after being healed by prayer while living here in 1866. This led to a bestselling book on Science and Health, a worldwide church, and a Pulitzer-prize winning newspaper for which she was elected into the Women's National Hall of Fame. Nice glimpse into 19th-century culture, especially from a woman's perspective. Family-friendly for older kids.

Free entrance and excellent guided tour. House has good period architecture and furnishings. Gardens are lovely. It's interesting to see the home where Mary Baker Eddy was living when she was healed by reading the Bible. That incident sparked the founding of an American religion, Christian Science.
