sharon police & fire museum

Started by a member of the local police department, this relatively new museum has already built up a large and interesting display featuring the memorabilia and history of the Sharon Police Department and Fire Department, as well as an overall look at police & fire history.On display are uniforms, badges, patches, and call boxes from in the early 1900's to date; as well as almost anything else that relates to either the police or fire services.The display is growing and is much larger that on my first visit and is a great take for ages. The visitors are given a chance to wander, ask questions and touch many of the items.While a lot of the material is from Sharon, there are a lot of other departments represented, including Boston and other nearby communities. On the fire side is a great fire extinguisher cart that has been nicely restored.

I expected this to be a tiny one-room exhibit. Was very surprised at how many police and fire items are present in this new museum (currently filling 3 rooms and expanding). If you are in the area and have an interest in police or fire items of past eras, stop in and pay a visit.
