The Norris Reservation is a place where I often go to walk. The walking trails are well marked, and you can make your walk as long or as short as you like. I especially enjoy the walk around the pond and then reaching the North River to sit for awhile. Sturdy shoes should be worn as a lot of the trails are uneven with tree roots sticking out. Many people come here to walk their dogs. Most of them have their dogs leashed and pick up after their pets, but there should be more trash receptacles. The parking lot is small, so you may have to park along the street or across the street. Even though there may be many cars parked, it is peaceful and quiet along the trails. The scenery is beautiful, and it is a great place to come to relax. My gratitude to the donor for this special place.

Norris is a great place for a relaxing stroll. You can make your walk as long or as short as you want. The trails are pretty well marked and the scenery is beautiful. I love getting to the river and sitting for a bit to clear my mind and watch the boats (in the summer!).

We live near this treasure and visit it often. Easy walking trails, a pond, broad brook and near the North River. Great foresight by the founder and donor. Well cared for. Many people use it, including dogs. I hope the walkers continue to pick up after pets. Generally it is NOT a problem, but a concern.It is a very pleasant walking experience, with several different trails.

Norris Reservation is a Trustees of the Reservation property.Each property in the collection is unique. While many know the Crane Estate on the Noth Shore, some know Worlds' End in Hingham, both have parking and admissions charges. On a chilly day when you are iffy about being outside, the idea of paying a full admission and leaving after an hour or so is somewhat off-putting.Norris Reservation is a hidden gem off of Rte 123 in the picturesque country town of Norwell, MA. There is no charge to enter the park and free parking for 12 cars. Dogs are welcome as long as you pick up after them.Walking paths are pine needle padded, but can be muddy this time of year and root-filled in several spots. A few favorite spots are the mill pond on one side of the walk with a splashover on the other side. Walking along, you will see woodlands and smell the clean scent of the pine trees. Oak trees are still bare but there are rhodies and other shrubs adding a bit of green. There's a bench by the pond which is a great spot to warm up in full sun. As the birds return, you hear their songs through the woods, and you may hear rustling of small creatures under the leaf litter. Continue on, and you will be rewarded with a view of the North River, at a bend allowing a view from a small gazebo-like structure up and down river. There may be a variety of water fowl in the water and on the shore. This is a pleasant hike out and back. Once you leave, there is a donut shopfor hot chocolate and a restaurant for something a bit more substantial, further down the road.For directions, Google Norris Reservation.

Really well maintained with some beautiful habitats. We always have little animal moments. Pretty little ponds and then the trail and views of the North River are nice. Takes about an hour and should be easily navagated by most. Bring a camera and there's no cell coverage.

The March storm did a lot of damage to the pine trees but you can still walk the trails and see the North River. They are working to clean everything up but there are so many big trees down that it will take awhile. The walking paths were mostly cleared with an occasional log to step over. The Boat House on the river was not damaged and is a great place to relax.

This is such a great place to walk your dog, kids or just yourself. On a nice day, there are many people walking the trails. It goes along the North River. There is a boat house to stop at, pack a lunch and eat it there!

This is the best place for a walk in Norwell. It is administered by the Trustees of Reservation and has a number of trails that wind through and around small ponds. One of the trails also winds along the North River with beautiful scenery all around. Lots of dog walkers here but they are required to be on a leash so it doesn't create a problem.

Wonderful to see the seasonal changes here on the North River. This park has a few cool loops to walk/jog through. It is great for kids

Hidden away in Norwell, this is a very popular place for walkers and joggers. It is beautifully wooded, with several pathways. Beware the roots in the paths, and the poison ivy lurking in the woods. A portion of the pathway abuts the North River, and there is a small dock house to sit in and observe the meandering river.There are no amenities on site, but tiny Norwell Center is nearby and offers a couple of convenience stores and a Dunkin Donuts.

If you live in Hanover, Norwell or Situate, you have likely driven by Norris Reservation without even knowing it. It is a lovely wooded reservation in Norwell on the North River. The walking level is beginners level as most paths are level and pretty short (less than 3 miles). While there are no paved paths or bikers paths and the area is unlit, the park welcomes dogs provided that are leashed and owners clean up after them in well-appointed, designated containers. Some of the nice features include a small stocked pond open to fishing, a boat house with porch and benches on the North River, fire pits and picnic tables for visitors, a boardwalk around a little pond for leisurely walking. Warning: due to its proximity to the river and ponds, it would be wise to avoid during wet weather/ melting snow as the mud gets treacherous. Also, the paths are narrow and wrought with roots from trees so smart to go when bright & sunny.

This beautiful 129 acre reserve was a gift to the town and the land is beautiful. Well suited for walking, jogging, dog walking, and beautiful views of the pond and the North River areas.It is free of admission charge, altho they happily accept donations.Parking can be overly limited, but if you look around, you can find additional parking close by.
