This is my fave movie theater in the Boston area. While it is more expensive than a standard movie theater (the Luxe Lite option is $20/person and includes a $5 food/beverage voucher), you get what you pay for and then some: plush seats with plenty of leg room; wait service with a pretty decent cocktail and food menu; and the option to sip on a glass of Merlot while watching a indie or blockbuster movie. Great for date night! One tip: come 20 minutes early or you will feel rushed through the ordering experience.

We had a very poor dining experience, though the movie itself was excellent and the seats comfy. However I would not pay $20/ticket to go here ever again (includes a $5 credit toward any food you order). I ordered a burger medium rare, no onion and no cheese, and I got well done. I had to cross the theatre to ring a bell to get service. Then the server stood in front of me and blocked the screen for me and all the people behind me while I sent the food back and asked for medium rare, no onion and no cheese. When it came again, it had cheese; I am lactose intolerant. When I said this, he asked if it was an allergy. I said no, I give up, take it away so I can watch the movie. On the bill it was still there. I had to wait and talk to a manager who the server said might be able to help me. Might? When she eventually came, I had to tell the whole story again, and she too asked if it was an allergy. What--I should have just eaten it then? She still didn't refund my $5 food credit from my theatre ticket. Poor attitude. Poor service. Good fries though.

A bit pricey for the dinner seats. $58 Actual food was expensive. $112 Appetizers were good and very tasty. Salads were in dire need of dressing. Drinks were OK. If it were a normal seating at DAVIO'S, you would ask for dressing, but all of this hustle and bustle went on during the movie. A novelty, but not for regular movie goers.

If you like being overcharged for ordinary food to be eaten in the dark while watching a movie then this is your kind of place. After buying tickets, my son ordered a turkey club and I had a large popcorn and soda. The total was......$50!! Sorry but we'll never go back and the "luxury" experience was completely inappropriate for a movie theater.

SuperLux is a more relaxed and comfortable movie experience. All of the screens have 4k projection with good sound, but don't expect an IMAX experience. Parking is easy and free.LuxLite (currently $20) comprises the first 3-4 rows, depending on the auditorium. The third or 4th row give good viewing angle and they aren't that close to the screen. Seats are extra large. They are so large that a date once told me her legs were uncomfortable due to the extra long seat bottoms. Servers distribute back-lit menus with a decent variety of food and drink offerings. Super Lux (currently $28) seats take up the rest of the theater. Seats here also recline and have an additional control for leg rests. It's a cross between a La-Z-Boy and a first class airplane seat. There are expanded menu offerings and the extra $8 admission includes popcorn. This is my choice for long movies.Think of SuperLux as a bar and restaurant that shows movies. That's certainly what National Amusements believes, because food and drinks are the real source of profit. While I like extra choices I do get tired of the constant trips that the servers make back and forth. Also the back-lit menus, and particularly the lighted check/credit card trays are very distracting. I would prefer if they could wait until the of a film to bring the checks out.

Great way to see a movie but kind of expensive. No screaming/talking kidsw which was a bonus. All you can eat popcorn, but one tub was enough. Would split a hamburg with my husband next time- good sandwich but way too big for me. No rims on tray tables so food can go flying! wish I had the reclinign chairs in my house.

Very comfortable way to see a movie, price seems outrageous at first but if you visit the snack bar at the movie theater it sort of comes out even. Service can be spotty, a few staff are great and remember you from visit to visit--others not so much. Online reservations can be challenging but manager is always willing to help.

the front admission /seating service is a little disorganized But the theatre is so luxurious and comfortable the food served form the internal restaurant is surprisingly good and served hot

Ok folks this is an upscale movie experience. You will not get a $2 ticket and $2 drinks. The seats are fantastic and in the upper section they are power recline. At 28 dollars a person it is not as expensive as the first seems since you have free parking and you get free popcorn and you get $5 off your food or drink. I had a lobster roll which was excellent and my daughter had the Asian chicken Nuggets which were great. The food is better than most movie cafe and comes from the attached restaurant. You have everything from appetizers to complete entrees. It is a first class experience all the way through.

I wouldn't do this often, but it is fun to have a more "luxurious" movie going experience once in a while. If you are going to go though, get the more expensive seats. If you are spending this much for a movie you might as well go all out and get the reclining seats.

The chair are the most comfie you can imagine, and they recline. Every seat in the theater has an excellent view of the screen. You can order dinner and the food is fabulous. Sophisticated. Healthy. I know...in a theater? But they are attached to a restaurant. Even the cocktails are really impressive. And if you want to have a post-theater intellectual discussion? Great lounge.

This is great when you feel like splurging! The seats are overwhelmingly comfortable and if you select the SuperLux seats in the back ($28), they recline all the way! I like that you get to select your seats ahead of time (like an airline) - and there's an app for that! In the back three rows, you have access to a server throughout the whole movie who is available at the push of a button. A full dinner menu (including mixed drinks and bottles of wine) is available from Davio's next door and is brought right to your seat! At a whopping $28pp unlimited popcorn is included. On my last visit, I spent $220 for the two of us (including dinner and a movie). The quality of the movie is perfect - with a textured screen and great sound. The theatre is also small (and only has about 12 rows or so)Enjoy!

Yes, the tickets are $20 per person, but you do get a $5 credit PER ticket towards food and drinks. They have a great lounge to wait in prior to the movie that features a cocktail bar and the drinks are delicious. There are two types of seating...Super Lux and Super Lux Lite--the major difference is the fact that the Super Lux Lite seats do not recline but are still comfortable. However, I would go for the Super Lux seats..there is no more comfortable way to watch a movie. The servers are great, the food is average, however if you don't want to eat there, there are several great restaurants including Davios and Del Frisco's Grille. This is definitely more of a price date night moving/dining experience but worth the treat.

ok. $20 a ticket, but you get a $5.00 food voucher. WORTH IT! the seats, the at seat service, food, all good. and they serve beer and liquor... pretty good set up.

Showcase Super Lux is the successor local movie theatre to the now gone Chestnut Hill theatre, and, in a way, to the Circle Movie Theatre -- both of which I loved. So in order to go to the movies at the Lux you have to pay $20 (don't get tricked into reserving even more expensive seats). But the seats are incredibly comfortable, and given that many theatres now charge $11, and you get $5 toward food, it's really not extraordinarily more expensive. It's definitely a different experience, with waitors and waitresses taking your order from your spacious seat, and back-lit menus. Sometimes it's a little annoying when a waiter is blocking your view of the movie in order to bring a late order to the buy sitting next to you. I also find myself wondering if this new, luxurious way is going to survive -- the staff is so much bigger, and a several times when we've come to see a movie the theatre has seemed less-than crowded. But for now, it's a neat experience!!
