When we moved to town getting a membership here was the first order of business. It is a great place to walk, job, entertain kids, read a book, listen to a concert, meet friends or have a family reunion.

I have been to Tower Hill Gardens at least half a dozen times for workshops. I wouldn't have known about this gorgeous place if not for that. Indoors and out it's a wonderful place to stroll, admire plants, stonework and the peace of being with plants and green things. It's open year round, though I have only been there in weather that allowed me to be outdoors as well as in. The store is lovely and Twig's Cafe gets good reviews though I haven't eaten there. I see they have a Valentine's Day Dinner. If I had a Valentine (I know there's still time:) I'd seriously consider it.

Our first visit was in December before Christmas. Arrived just before 3pm on a Saturday and in time for one of the holiday concerts (included in admission price). The visitor center was decorated with beautiful real and artificial trees, and the conservatories were gorgeous, especially a giant "tree" made of bromeliad plants. As the sun set, the view of the Wachusett Reservoir was spectacular and the colorful light display was lovely. Can't wait to go back in the spring.

We were given a membership to Tower hill as a gift so go here often. The outside trials are educational and interesting during all seasons. A great place For hikes. The inside galleries are a treat for the senses. The smells and beauty in the l'orangerie are amazing. There are little tables and chairs scattered under the lemon and orange chairs to stop, read a book, or just take in the beauty. My husband taught horticulture and was so impressed by the plantings, arrangements, and educational materials provided. A visit on a cold dreary day to the galleries with a stop for lunch or dessert in the restaurant is a real treat.

The Tower Hill Botanic Garden has been on my list for some time. I was able to visit it right after Christmas, and it was lovely. The weather was nice, so we walked some of the grounds. I can't wait to go back in the spring to see all the plants in bloom. The indoor buildings were just a joy in the dead of winter. So many pretty and interesting plants. The holiday trees were stunning. When dusk arrived, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful light display. Really enjoyed the visit. They have a nice gift shop as well.

I live about an hour away from a friend of mine and her family, and we were looking for a fun thing to do for the holidays and decided on this, as it was equidistant from each of our homes. We were not disappointed! The Christmas trees were beautifully decorated inside, most from crafty recycled materials, and we were wowed as we stepped outside into the beautiful night air, the trees illuminated with bright, colorful lights. It was exactly what I had hoped for- a winter scene of beautiful lights, lighting up the night. The view of the sunset over the Wachusett Reservoir was beautiful. I can't wait to go back, both next winter AND next summer when all the flowers are in bloom!

Every time I go here there is something new and interesting. Most recently we went to see the Christmas trees on display and listen to a concert by Shir Joy. Then we sat and read for a bit under the lemon tree while we waited for darkness so we could experience the outdoor lights. Spending an afternoon at Tower Hill is a peaceful experience. Oh, and they have a nice gift shop where I picked up some nice gifts for my staff at work.

We are so sorry your experience was not what it should have been. We strive to make sure every single visitor feels valued and enjoys the best of what Tower Hill has to offer. I would personally appreciate hearing more about your visit so that we can use that feedback to make changes going forward. Please send me a note at rburgess@towerhillbg.org if you get the chance. Again, we sincerely apologize and with your help we can do better. -Robert Burgess, Public Relations

Check out the displays through January 4, 2015!!!! Lots of lights outside as well as decorations throughout the buildings inside. We went the day after Christmas and no crowds...lovely to stroll the property!!!

I recently visited the Tower Hill Gardens. I have been before but t was years ago. This trip they were all prepared for the holidays. It was freezing, but the trees, bushes, arches... were all lit with different colored lights, sparkling off the snow on the ground. Inside they had created a huge Christmas tree with bromeliads that was pretty and unique. The main hall was decorated with all sorts of white trees, lights, and hand made creations of all sorts. We were told that the majority of the decorations had been made by volunteers. Amazing. And.. they had put paper glasses, like 3D glasses into masks; when you looked through them the lights looked like snowmen, ornaments, and more. Very nice. Note: they also have a restaurant.

My garden club took a field trip to the Tower Hill Botanical Garden, and we were all impressed with how beautiful a place it is. It was a cold, rainy day, but we opted to view the grounds as well as the indoor facilities. The trees and large bushes are plentiful and well tended. The "winter garden" has some shrubs that provide color even in this season. The walkways are brick and comfortable. We agreed that it must be even more lovely in the spring, summer and fall, although there were indoor exhibits of Christmas trees decorated with found and/or recycled materials done by the staff and volunteers. Before we went inside, where there is a conservatory with some tropical plants and trees, all arranged well and obviously tended with care, the fog lifted enough to that we could see that there was, indeed, a spectacular view of nearby mountains. We had lunch at the Twigs Cafe, which had a limited menu of very good small-meal items, all reasonably priced. All in all, this was a terrific trip for our club and would be for anyone going alone, with family or with friends.

We try to visit every year during school vacation week. A calm oasis nestled on top of a magnificent hill with a view over the worcester hills. Staff is very friendly, tours are self guided. Get a pass from the local library in your town if you live close by!

Living so close to Tower Hill Botanic Gardens, coupled with having a membership there, I can pretty much stop by whenever the mood hits me for a visit. Each of the seasons has its own special beauty at Tower Hill. In the Spring and Summer, many of the beautiful flowers are in bloom. Arrive early with a picnic lunch and that someone special and head up to The Belvedere - my favorite spot on the property. At the Belvedere, you will enjoy a lovely view of Mount Wachusett and the Wachusett Reservoir. In Autumn, you can experience the wonderful colors of New England. They offer year round classes on a variety of topics from cooking to gardening. There are several trails you can explore on the property as well.

I sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding the statues at Tower Hill Botanic Garden. As you point out, some weathering is part of the natural appearance our instituion values, but I will take your concerns to the staff involved with grounds keeping and ask that they assess our statues to ensure they meet our organization's standards. -Robert Burgess, Public Relations

This is such a relaxing place to learn about varieties of flowers grouped in similar types. We'll have to come back in the summer to see it at full bloom. Nice walking trails in the woods too. And the harp concert was a real treat..
