What a treasure, Lake Fort Smith cabin rentals. These are recently constructed, well equipped, and located on a scenic lake. Forget your key and open your cabin door lock with the last four numbers of your telephone number. When you step inside you will put city problems out of your cabin.Firewood is waiting, modern plumbing, and dish tv all in a very competitive price that a typical motel cannot matchThe sole tiny negative, no salt and pepper, but then this is cabin living.

If there was a way to rate 10 I would ! This is the MOST beautiful cabin in a state park ...or anywhere for that matter, that we have ever stayed. Huge rooms...kingsize bed that is SO comfortable. Fantastic deck with gorgeous teak furniture and view of the lake. Huge fireplace and great deal on wood. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want and the appliances are wonderful....blender, toaster, coffee maker...on and on ! The bathroom is luxurious...gorgeous towels and a huge tub with jets. Nothing was spared in building these cabins...nothing. It is amazing !! Make sure you buy whatever you want to eat and drink before you come " up the mountain" . There isn't much up here . Also dry county so stop across the river before you come into Arkansas :)

You can reserve RV spots. This is a great advantage. The spots were very spacious. The bathrooms are very nice also.

Visitor Center, campsites, day-use area, marina, (everything!) is practically new and well maintained. All park staff we encountered were very friendly. The park is located in the rugged Boston Mountain area of the Ozarks and the scenery is beautiful. The lake was not as clear as I expected, but we were there shortly after a heavy rain.

This is an amazing campground. The facilities are top notch, the camp sites are perfect, smooth, well laid out and like new. We were able to rent a kayak and go on a two hour tour around a nearly empty lake (empty of people, not water!)The lodge is beautiful with a very nice back porch where you can sit in the rockers. There are nice paths and a bench at the overlook, where you can enjoy the lake from up above.I highly recommend this site for an enjoyable weekend.

I took the kayaking tour across the lake with several other avid outdoors women . Made new friends and enjoyed a great first kayaking experience with a very knowledgable tour guide .Great day for some fresh air and relaxing on the water

On a whim, I loaded up bike and kayak and drove northwest for about an hour and twenty minutes, from my home yesterday. This wonderful state park rewarded me with friendly service and super clean, modern facilities, as well as a great lake for paddling around in my boat. I noticed that the park rents boats of all sizes and types and loans fishing gear if you'd like to give that a try. The campground portion looks very nice and quiet. I hope to return in the near future and spend a few days. There is also a very nice pool and quite a few people were taking advantage of that respite from the heat yesterday.Great job, Arkansas!

Great 2 nite stay. We stayed in cabin #9 and it was great. The staff at the visitor center were friendly. Cabin #9 is a two bedroom 2 full bath. Lots of room and it has a large covered patio in the back.

For our family reunion we chose the Kingfisher Lodge. It turned out to be the perfect option. With 32 or so beds (and room for more sleeping bags on the floor fro small kids) it fit our family like a glove. In comparison to other state parks we've been to, it all seemed nearly brand new and very clean. On a Mon-Wed the lake was nearly deserted which was very nice and relaxing. The pool and pool play area was very good. For a large group you'll want to buy one of the multi-entrance pass options. the staff were all very helpful, pleasant and attentive. We wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Had a wonderful weeknight camping here! We have small children and they loved it too. Enjoyed walking trails and fishing. There were deer roaming around and other wildlife. There was a pool party Saturday night and we had a fun night there with friends! Very nice and super clean bathhouses. Great picnic area with great views. The only thing is make sure you bring all you need! The little gift shop and marina have ice and a few other items but no real grocery items!

Lake Fort Smith has some beautiful campsites that blend so seamless into the natural surroundings! This part is well maintained, and it is a new park after the dam was built creating the Lake off of the historical Shepherd Springs spillway.

I agree with other tripadvisors; this is a neat place to stay. Stayed in a one bedroom cabin3 nights end of October 2013. The cabin was great had all things we needed. appliances lookednew; the combination kitchen/living room area was spacious ;liked the flat screen TV.We sat out on the deck of cabin to drink our coffee. The woods back up to the deck;saw a deerone day from the deck. Park has good walking trails ; there are not a lot of restaurants nearby;so you might want to stock up at the Walmart in Alma,Ar. Overall the park is very relaxingway to spend some time. The staff at park were very friendly helpful

We've never been to a campground quite like this one. There's something for everyone. We hiked, biked, kayaked and did a 6-mile run...oh yeah, and we chilled. We are tent campers and are 60ish-somethings. The maintenance of this park, which opened in 2008, is incredible. Bathrooms are as clean as any public facility we've ever seen. The temperature of the shower water could be warmer but was tolerable. The terraced campsites in the tent section all have water and electric. The pads for the tents are 16' x 16' and have a base of extremely fine crusher run material. We timed our trip to coincide with the fall foilage colors and were stunned...the best in years according to some of the locals. Quiet time, 10 p.m.till sunrise, was strictly observed and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. For the 2nd time in my life, I locked the keys in my car, this time while I was on the boat ramp loading up our kayaks. An employee of neighboring Mountainburg, AR was launching his boat and kindly made a call to law enforcement in Mountainburg for help. They in turn called the park rangers and within 30 minutes 2 rangers showed up and had me unlocked in just a few minutes. One of the rangers was actually off duty but came by to assist the other ranger who had never unlocked a car door with the particular tools they had. There are 10 (?) cabins that just opened this year as well as a couple of other lodges that were hosting weddings during our stay. All in all, a flawless experience.Other reviews mention that the gps coordinates are inaccurate. The coordinates on the brochure we have are 35 41 72.1 N and 94 07 14.1 W and they are correct. Also, at the visitor center, wi-fi is available. Finally, we have at&t coverage on our cell phones and were never without signal.
