Trails are up and down, round and round. Much to see and well marked with information about the plants, shrubs and trees you are walking among. Gardens link with the Crystal Bridges Trail system so an easy and picturesque stroll takes you to the Museum. Parking is nearby.

On our walk around the Bentoville Square we were told to be sure and visit the Compton Gardens. At first we thought it would be just a walk through some flowers, etc.., but once there, we were amazed at the beauty and maintenance of such a scenic area! You will really enjoy this Garden's any time of the year!

Very nice walking trail that leads you to the Crystal Bridges. Lots of wild flowers, stream and bridges in the area. Great for biking, walking and enjoying the great outdoors!

It was a pleasant surprise. I LOVED the garden. Very quiet, peaceful and a beautiful walk. Pleasant lunch on the porch too

The gardens are beautiful. We had a great time walking around. October is a great time of the year to go. We walked around in the garden, then walked to Crystal Bridges.

The trails are very nice and the collection of native plants displayed in their native habitat is excellent. Also the plants are well marked. Easily accessible from the Bentonville town square, the 21C Hotel, and the Crystal Bridges Museum. A perfect urban native plant garden.

We visited Compton Gardens to see an art exhibit featuring drawings of Champion Trees found in Arkansas. The art exhibit was wonderful and a unique subject. After viewing the exhibit we strolled the trails though the gardens. There are two Champion Trees in these gardens along with examples of many varieties of native trees. The walks are easily managed and the beauty and peaceful surroundings are special. We want to return in the spring to see the azalea garden and also in the fall to see the autumn colors. This is a beautiful vision of nature at its best.

Although busiest in the spring and summer when the flowers are in bloom, this is a lovely place for a leisurely stroll along easily walked trails through woods. Just outside the downtown square area of Bentonville, Arkansas, one can connect to the ever popular Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art trails from these trails too.

I'm not sure how I found it, but I saw something online about a plant sale at Compton Gardens the weekend we were visiting. We stopped by after visiting the Square to take a peek around. There was also a demonstration of wood turning, which was an immediate attraction to my three sons. We watched a woodcrafter make a spinning top out of a hunk of wood. My youngest got to keep it. After the demonstration, we walked along some of the trails and found a trail that connected to Crystal Bridges from Compton Gardens. We didn't walk it, but we will plant to hike it next time we visit. During our walk on the trail within the gardens, a hawk swooped down right next to us and then perched up in the tree above us. That was the closest we'd ever come to a hawk! Even my teenagers were impressed! On our way back, there was a woman who was reading books. She invited us to have a cookie and listen. It was a beautiful story and the nicest way to conclude our visit.

Our B&B backed up to the gardens. We did our first walk through right at daybreak. The flowers, sculptures, etc. were amazing.

There is plenty of parking on site, but you may not need it if you are staying in downtown Bentonville or visiting the Crystal Bridges Museum. The trails at Compton Gardens connect to the trail system around Crystal Bridges and are just a short walk from downtown Bentonville. Many of the trees and plants are labeled, so it helps answer the question "what is that tree". The fully paved trail is easy for almost anyone to enjoy. It's pet friendly (pooper bags available). Kids will enjoy the wildlife and much of the art is "kid friendly" as well.

This is several trails that can lead you in different trails. The Compton Garden trail is beautiful. The trees, bushes, flowers, etc are all marked what they are. The path is part paved and part wood chip. There is small creeks along the way and statues. We have not been to the conference center. Also some gardens and stone gardens too if you choose that trail. You can walk or ride your bike. You can also go to crystal bridges trails/museum from there which is also beautiful. There is restrooms there in the business office. Our family goes here often.

I wish I could have seen these beautiful rock pathways and walls being constructed. This place is fabulous. Want to return when more species are in bloom.

I came upon this place while on my way to Crystal Bridges Museum so stopped to check out the trails and was glad I had. What a lovely place for a walk along the paved trails through trees, shrubs and plants which are labelled. As an extra bonus there are also bird feeders which had lots of activity the cold day I was there. Even in winter this was an enjoyable place to enjoy nature.

...place for a stroll. Would have enjoyed it more if there hadn't been so many noisy kids riding scooters.
