Learn about the history of this area, and if it is a Tuesday or Thursday around 4:00, stay with your kids to feed the fish!

Art and nature, what could be better? They had a cool science section, a nice gift shop, local history, and art. Something for everyone.

We were pleasantly surprised and the quality of this museum. I mean, Homer Alaska, do you think you are going to find a lot of high quality displays? Well, apparently, YES.It is a somewhat small, maybe medium sized museum, but there is a lot to see. Many multimedia kiosks, very modern. There is a very large amount of information presented about the Alaska natives.I found the presentation about whaling techniques especially interesting. This museum is one of the top in the country, according to the ratings. At first, I didn't believe it, but after visiting, I do now.If you are in Homer, stop in and see it, unless you are expecting the Smithsonian, I don't think you will be disappointed.

The museum is small but provides a lot of information about the history and wildlife of the area. Very interesting displays and well maintained. I really recommend to visit this museum and spend there at least half day.

Our little museum is one of the best in the world. See the kiddie tank and hold a hermit crab or revisit the devastation of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill. Homesteading exhibit is great!

I love this museum and recommend to all my guests. The live web cams are so exciting and the feeding of the fish for kids is great. Also, love the art displays.

The Pratt Museum is THE best introduction to Kachemak Bay and the charming town of Homer. The Award-winning museum's permanent and temporary exhibits will enable you to enjoy your visit more because you will understand what makes this amazing place tick, both in terms of the Bay itself (one of the richest in the world, biologically speaking) and the interesting and adventurous people who live here today - and who inhabited the area in the past.

We had a very rainy day on our two day stay in Homer and were looking for some indoor things to do. This is an informative and interesting place. Easy to do in a couple of hours.Worth the visit if you have the time (especially if raining outside).

The Pratt Museum was a fantastic showcase of the local history. The personal stories from the locals were fantastic. This museum was well done.

The people were ready and willing to help us enjoy every aspect of the museum. The shared inventory with other museums in AK was impressive. The heritage of the natives is evident.

This well-organized museum would be easily missed. Pay particular attention to the "living histories" recorded by those who lived the history. Also, don't miss Gull Island camera! may be the closest you get to a Puffin in Homer!

THis museum is nice and quaint and had I not been to the Anchorage museum I would have rated this higher but most of this was redundant information. If you are not visiting anchorage, I would definitely visit for the pipeline and other information.

Yes it is a great museum with interesting local history and culture. What we did not expect is the wonderful fish feeding hours at 4pm . The collection of marine wildlife from local kachemak bay are very interesting to observe. The 10 year old in our group was given an opportunity observing a sea urchin eating dinner in close distance --- holding in his hands. The best part is to watch the new arrival -- small octopus being trained to open a can. Smart. I would recommend this museum for anyone visiting this area.
