the girdwood center for the visual arts

We biked out to the The Bake Shop for lunch and not having to bolt back to town like we usually do discovered the Girdwood Center for Visual Arts right next door. It is filled with treasures by Alaskan artists. All unique and perfect for those visiting Alaska to take home as a special memory or for us locals to have because we totally love this place and want to surround ourselves with the talent and beauty of the creations found at the gallery. The woman staffing the desk when we were there (weekday) was so warm and welcoming and put up with our bantering back and forth as a few of us "fought" over one particular piece of art. I look forward to future trips with time for lunch and browsing through the arts center.
