My husband and I have always wanted to do this, so we got to take a short ride around downtown Anchorage 3 nights ago. It was cold outside, but the warm blankets were great. Hearing the horse hooves clip clop on road was entertaining. We loved our time riding in the carriage.

Being an Alaskan location with arctic cllimatic conditions we have tried for over 30 years to do our best to provide an unique Alaskan experience. Weather conditions are unprodictable but we have tried for timely scheduling as well as providing heavy lap robes (blankets) that are specificely designed for both horsedrawn sleigh and carriage rides. When temperature are below zero and below, it may take twice the time to get a a simple task accompliished and is never predictable, like buckling a buckle or undoing a snap. My wife of 51 years recently died, and she was my support at keeping events on schedule.

Went to the home of the local draft horse teams for a sleigh ride in the country. Great service and friendly demeanor from the local operator. Even got to feed the horses carrots after. Local, authentic experience in the country. You just dont find this any more. They also offer carriage rides in downtown Anchorage.
