So beautiful and it was free. The memorial was done well and my family enjoyed. Being able to show my children how far we have come for civil rights didn't regristed till coming here and seeing this memorial.

This should have been constructed and presented on a much more imposing basis. After all, these events were extremely important as we're those who paid with their lives.Yes, it is pretty but it is so modest and self effacing that it does not do justice to momentous events

The memorial is well thought out and beautiful. Place your hand in the water, remember that people are always changing, and hope it's for the better.

Definitely worth seeing! Maya Lin did a great job designing this memorial; it's beautiful. It's just outside of the museum and really easy to get to. Free to see and it is family friendly.

Learn more about the Memorial inside the Civil Rights Memorial Center. Many stories of individuals that are apart of the monument are told.

We liked the movie, which provided a good overview of the Civil Rights Movement. The memorial is thought provoking.

This is the memorial bronze circle with the names of civil rights' individuals. Outside the actual memorial centre (not reviewed here) and you can just walk up to it and view, take photos etc. Not sure why you would need a review unless people are linking it with the actual memorial centre (which is also listed separately).

Although we had visited the Rosa Park and MLK museums, this was a brief visit.... but it was worth our time

You will see this memorial fountain right outside the Civil Rights Movement Memorial. The fountain is engraved with the names of the 40 men, women and children who were killed during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 60s.

Got there too late to get inside, but the outside displays were informative and easy to follow. Brought back memories of events I saw on TV or read in newspaper, and the facts that for me living in Southern Arizona were strange and not understandable at the time. Well, not understandable now actually, but I know they happened. So, even if you are visiting here after hours, the visit is worthwhile and memorable.

The video is moving, and the screens they have to "look around" Montgomery are very cool. These are stories that everyone should here. This is an important place.

Stopped here on a return trip from Louisiana. This doesn't tell the entire story of the struggle for Civil Rights, but if you only have a couple of hours in Montgomery take it in. The theme "The March Continues" was emphasized by the armed guards outside and across the street from the memorial. Apparently, just the idea of the place sits sour in the hearts of some.

The memorial monument is located outside of the Civil Rights Memorial Center; there is no admission fee. It is a unique site to visit.

There are important civil rights movement occurrences etched into the memorial and water flows over it. Something about the sound of the water calms you as you run your fingers across it.

.... But well worth a visit. This should not be viewed as a museum but as a Memorial, as the name implies. It tells the story of both the well known and lesser know heroes and martyrs for true freedom in the United States. A somber and sobering experience and a must to understanding the complex history of our country.
