Great location to visit that has lots of war artifacts. The volunteer staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend.

The museum has an amazing collection from the American Revolution to modern conflicts. It is staffed by only volunteers that are very helpful and courteous. They have U.S. Army jeep number one, a number of tanks, helicopters and dozens of other weapons. On hand but not on display is a collection of hundreds of uniforms and a research library of over 7000 books and artifacts.

This is one of the finest military museums I have ever been to. It has some of the finest restored military vehicles I have ever seen. The quantity and quality of the displays are phenomenal. This museum has one-of-a-kind items like the first Army jeep and a rifle off a destroyer that was at Pearl Harbor that likely fired at attacking Japanese aircraft. I'd recommend the name be changed to "American" Veterans since it honors all veterans and Huntsville is the home to several Confederate units. Confederate soldiers are "American" veterans by acts of Congress and are part of our local history as well! This museum is well-worth a visit. Plan to stay no less than two hours.

Visited Huntsville for the afternoon. Stopped into the museum after seeing it on trip advisor. The museum has something for everyone. Military history brought to life with pictures and exhibits. Very friendly people to answer any questions that you may have. I would highly recommended a stop here.

I have been to many more than 50 military museums all over the world and have never seen some of the artifacts in this museum (albeit some are replicas). While not particularly "kid friendly", my G'kids really enjoyed it (over a >3 hour visit). The volunteer staff is very caring and I didn't mind overpaying the modest "suggested" donation (it is a charitable organization).

This museum was fantastic. It is not super easy to find and its not too pretty on the outside. But wow, when you get in there and see the sheer amount of pieces they have to view and talk to the staff it's amazing. If I had to choose a favorite piece it'd be the one of a kind jeep collection (literally)they have here. The "Pygmy" (the first Jeep prototype) and the story that you hear along with it are awesome.

The displays are authentic and the tour guides are well versed and usually ex-service personnel. As an ex Air Force person, I really appreciate how clean and well kept his place is and how they honor veterans.

Staff was very friendly, a large selection of all kinds of military uniforms / vehicles / weaponry from various wars. Is a very nominal entry fee, I think $5 per person and $1 for each child. We children were entertained as well, it was a shame it's not a larger space as it is a very large collection.

One of the most amazing collections of artifacts and vehicles I have seen. The world war 2 displays were very well done.

This was a place worth going if you have only one or two days in Huntsville. From outside it looked like a junkyard and we nearly dropped the thought of going in. But reviewers had this as 5 stars so stepped in. Sure this needs an update and I think one of the volunteer said they are working on it. This place had great sum of artifacts. I bet no where else you can find the first ol' willy delivered to US Army. I bet if they had 3 - 4 times larger space and budget thos could rank as top veteran museum of the country. U got to step in to see it yourself.

It was a little tricky to find - reading the review that said the outside looked a bit like a junkyard helped. The building is full of vehicles, uniforms, weapons, etc. from every U.S. War. The museum is good but the displays could use some more descriptions added to them. What really made the visit for us were the volunteers - all vets. They were eager to answer questions and share their stories and knowledge. It was wonderful to be able to spend time talking with them. We spent about 1 1/4 hrs. there. A $5 donation was suggested for each adult.

This is an amazing place in a city the size of Huntsville. The all volunteer crew has connected the equipment of the past with the memories of our living and passed veterans. Well worth the visit for young and old. Maybe together.

When you pull into the parking lot it appears that you have found a junkyard with a very small building in the middle. What a surprise, when you enter the building it is much bigger than anticipated and so much historical stuff to view. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We didn't have much visit time because we arrived late and it was closing soon but we are most definitely headed back soon.

Wonderful museum. Had I not had small children with me then I could have enjoyed it much more. Too worried about little hands. However, the six year old loved it.

I'm so proud to live in a city that takes care of their Veterans as much as Huntsville does!!! This is a wonderful tribute to those Veterans!!!
