Played Glen Lakes in a golf outing. The course was in good condition for February. The course has both sand and water, but is fair and fun to play. They had a marshal going around to insure everyone was moving at a reasonable rate. Only complaint was it was on the cold side and windy and they had no beverage cart going around with hot coffee.

First thing was golf now rate was 55 but charged us 65 cause we didnt want to use credit cards thru golf now. Second thing, no one mentioned greens had been top dressed with tons of sand. Greens where solid white and rolled terribly! Pace of play was extremely slow and members are not going to allow play thru for faster players. There are many better options for golf. Craft farms, peninsula, lost key, perdido bay, kiva dunes and rock creek!

My wife and I play a round or two at Glenlakes every time we get back to Gulf Shores for our annual vacation. Our most recent visit before this one was in August 2013. Since our last trip it seems like lots has changed at Glenlakes. We have always enjoyed the course and the value has always been great, but this time we learned the course was under new ownership. And we actually had the pleasure of meeting some of the new owners who happen to be the local members. The round of golf was wonderful, the course was in the best shape we have ever seen it in, the new greens are amazing and the price point was still extremely affordable. I think the price could easily double and still be considered a good value compared to some other courses we've visited in the Gulf Shores area. After our round we stopped in the new bar and restaurant and again were extremely surprised to see an updated menu and new energy in the bar area. We ended up sitting next to a small group at the bar who happened to be a few of the new owners. We hadn't planned on hanging around, but we ended up enjoying cocktails and fun conversations with them for an hour or more. We had a blast thanks to the new local owners!A great golf experience, a ridiculous value, wonderful people and just all-in-all a lot of fun! If you are in the Gulf Shores area I recommend making it a point to see this great locally owned golf course.

I had the pleasure of playing 18 of the 27 holes here a few months back and I have to say, what a great place for the price. I've played quite of few of the local courses and spent 2 to 3X the money at those other tracks. This course definitely holds up against any course in the region and is simply a much better value. The people are also extremely friendly!

I recently went on vacation with my family and myself along with my two brother in laws always try to play at least 3 rounds. We played Peninsula first, which I had no problems with whatsoever. It was about $95 per player, but the course itself wasn't special. It's was in good shape and everyone was friendly. We then planned to play GlenLakes and Kiva Dunes. We decided to play GlenLakes first. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were very hospitable and couldn't have been nicer. I though it was every bit as good as Peninsula and even in better shape. We all decided that we would play our 3rd round at GlenLakes and skip the $79 fee at Kiva Dunes which was at our back door. I think the only reason GlenLakes was $30 cheaper is because it was about 5-7 miles inlet. I've played some very nationally ranked courses and you aren't going to get that here, but you will have a fun round and each hole is unique.

If your looking for a great affordable golf outing that is challanging, this is the place to be. The two nines are so different, play the Lakes to the Dunes. The Dunes Nine is the way to finish a great round of golf. I play it everytime I go for a visit to the Foley area. Friendly staff and the 19th hole is worth visiting.

This course is owned by Local members. There are 27 holes and the 3 nine holes are all distinct and enjoyable. Nice Clubhouse with Pro shop, and food service is available. The local courses are heavily played but this is one that is easy for all to enjoy.....Great People!!!

My wife and I came to orange beach for vacation the first week of May 2013 and I called around getting prices for golf in the area. I called glen Lakes and was told they had a Tuesday special of 28 dollars because they were working on the greens. I got there expecting a goat rope and was blown away! This course could easily get 75 bucks a round. Beautiful greens! Friendly staff. Playing this course will be a yearly tradition for me!

Great people at the clubhouse. Beautiful grounds. Great location. On the way to the beach off the Beach Express

This course is always a nice track. The greens are far better than any other course I have played in the area, quick and true. The maintenance people have done a very nice job, despite so much rain over so many days.

It was a zoo on the first tee on who was first between member and guest....no starter....a guy was wearing a t-shirt and suspenders (member)...the counter person was rude....they do not open until 6:45a and rush with the first t time at 7:04a....course is nice....just rude people

I like this link style course but if your not a live on course member it's like you owe them to play. Point being you make tee time you show up hour early to hit range balls if onsite member shows up they will try pushing you off before your tee time or send member right in front of you. I have played this course for many years & like the course but it is managed badly. Can get out of their price range I guess thinking they are a Cotten Creek or Kiva Dunes & they don't even compare.

We love the layout. The Vista is fairly easy yet still challenging but the Dunes can kick your butt. (Have never played the Lakes.) It could use some water - fairways dry in places and some bare spots. Greens ok. People in proshop great. No beverage cart. Porta john on front and flush on back (review by female). Check Welcome Center and golfnow.com for discounts. Best course for the money in April.

the course is always wet and you can't use the carts on a lot of the fairways, even when it hasn't rained for over a week, they need to spend some money and put in better drainage.

Choice of three 27 holes. From a links to Championship courses I fully enjoy this course very challenging and rewarding. Not expansive as most in the area. Staff is friendly and very pleasant to talk with. Full restaurant and drink cart. Public course and one course is fit for Mountain Goats called the Dunes and it lives up to its name..... But extremely fun to play..... There is something for all. Beginners to Scratch Players ......... Love this course equipped with gps though sometimes it not very good
