From the moment you walk in the front door and the cowbell announces your presence It is as if the old store was still alive. Tall ceilings and a stairway to the second floor takes you back in time as you walk down the aisles to look at the displays featuring towns in the county and those featuring items from the past: for instance, a player piano, an old brass cash register, an arrowhead collection, and Civil War artifacts. Nonetheless, it is a place where chlldren can touch items from the past at several of the displays. They can also trek downstairs to the old basement, which is filled with more interesting displays. In fact, you can take a picture of anyone willing to put on a jail uniform in the jail display - the kids love it! Take the kids and enjoy this museum - they will not be disappointed!
