Always a stop whenever in the area. The scrimp cannot be beat--always fresh. Buy it, take it home, cook it and enjoy. Always good conversation when we stop in to get scrimp. This is a "do not miss" kind of place. Neat fishing boats and a sea atmosphere. This is a place to go.

Three couples went out to Billy's to buy fish shrimp. The shrimp looked beautiful as well as the oysters and fish. We purchased three pounds of jumbo shrimp. Brought it back and cooked it. As Lawrence Welk would say - Wonderful!! Wonderful". All three pounds was consumed. We walked out on the dock and looked at the shrimp boats. I will stop get more to take home to Michigan.

We went as most do to buy shrimp and oysters. Enjoyed the people who worked there. They were helpful in recommending the the variety to buy. We went back and had them pack a cooler with seafood to bring home. We are still enjoying the results.

I ordered 25 lbs of royal reds for a dinner party w/ 27 of our closest friends & family. These shrimp were so over cooked they were the consistency of mashed potatoes! Gross!!! I emailed the owner who to my knowledge did nothing. They OBVIOUSLY don't value business. I will never order anything from them again!

The shrimp were awful. They were shipped to me for a cost of $115 for 5 lbs. large shrimp and they tasted like brine. I called the owner who didn't offer to do anything about it unless I was "down there".

It was our first time going to Billy's but not the last! Fresh seafood and so much cheaper than on the main strip. It was worth the drive out to Bon Secour. You could spend a bit of time just watching the boats! Super friendly, shared stories, and was just super nice! Can not beat the experience, the kindness, and the quality! Stop by the Visitor Station and get the coupon, then head over. YOU MUST GET the Royal Reds. Boil in water, nothing else. Consistency and taste of Lobster!

First time going to Billy's, he had a nice variety of fish and shrimp. What I thought was a nice surprise was he had crawfish cooked and seasoned. He showed me how to break and peel it and let us have a taste. I wasn't to happy that the fish was not priced nor was the crawfish.

This is our 4th winter in Gulf Shores. A friend recommended Billy's and we finally went out there. A super friendly guy, with a great sense of humor, was working the counter. We ordered a pound of the royal reds and 2 grouper fillets. We broiled the grouper and it was great but the red were a rip off. When we got back to the condo and open the reds, we found only two of the big "royals" (about 5 in long). The rest ranged from 2-3"!!! We cooked them as he directed: boil water, add reds, bring to boil again, cook only 1 minute, drain and cool with water - eat or refrigerate. We did as directed and they were good but the size was really disappointing. Will go to Aquila's (down the street from Billy's) or Joe Patti's in Pensacola next time.

Since TripAdvisor just sent me an email noting that I had looked at Billy's and wanting a review - here it is. But the dates don't work for this one. After the Deepwater Horizon blew out in late April 2010 I figured if I wanted some Gulf shrimp I better get some soon and called Billy's; since I'd bought shrimp there a few years earlier and they were good. I ordered ten pounds and they got to Maine in good shape. I still have a few in the freezer, had some the other day, and they're still good. Not as good as fresh, but still pretty good. Now that there won't be a Maine shrimp season this winter, probably I should get some more Gulf shrimp from Billy's. Not that one can really compare Maine shrimp and Gulf shrimp too closely, but shrimp are shrimp and I do like Gulf shrimp. Don't tell anyone in Maine I said this, but I generally like Gulf shrimp better.....I'm giving Billy's a very good instead of excellent because excellent is reserved for Key West pinks. But they're hard to come when you're in Maine.

Billy's Seafood is the best buy on seafood one can find on the Alabama Gulf Coast. They are located on CR 10, turn off Highway 59 at the Shell Station onto CR 10 and go West. The drive is not far and it is a pretty drive too. They are located directly on the Bon Secour River and at Mobile Bay (Gulf Shores area). The seafood is Fresh for it is right off their shrimp and fishing fleets. While you are there, you can see some of their shrimp boats. Billy's prices are usually about $2.50 to maybe more than $3.00 cheaper than other places. They have just about any fish you might want, and all sizes of shrimp, including the hard to find Royal Reds, which are shrimp caught is very deep water. Here is how to cook the reds. Get your water boiling HOT, add NOTHING else-no salt nor seasoning. Drop headless shrimps into the boiling water and boil on high for FOUR minutes-NO MORE. They will then taste like little lobsters. Dip in warm garlic butter and you will have some really good eating, remember these do not take like regular shrimp-so so good and they are larger than regular shrimps. They are fabulous and cook them as I have directed you. Cocktail sauce will spoil their sweet taste, so only add butter, garlic butter or nothing at all. EVERYTHING IS FRESH for boats come in every day. Billy's Seafood also packs to travel. The prices are far batter than elsewhere and always fresh. THEy also have nice crab meat, nice dips such as Tuna dips, etc. They close at 5:00pm and are closed on Sunday or they go to church! ( YOu may have seen their seafood trucks all over the state delivering seafood to restaurants). Save money, but the best and go ere. Follow signs and be sure to check out the view off his docks at the boats and teh river-really pretty!

Having been guests with friends in a rental, we were able to do our own cooking. We were advised by the neighbors to visit Billy's Seafood market. We picked out a couple of fish that we were not familiar with. When asked about the varieties, they are knowledgeable and we were so happy with our dinner that we returned for more. While my husband and friends were making their purchases, I wandered around the outside with my camera and found an information board about the area's salt-mining history, by the picnic tables. Awesome!

Fabulous quality seafood and helpful, friendly staff. Bring a cooler (so you don't need to buy one of the styrofoam ones that they sell) and load up on fresh seafood. They will provide ice to keep your items cold while you travel back to your condo, beach house, etc... The quality of the seafood here is unsurpassed and in my opinion this is the very best seafood market in the gulf area. They will steam your shrimp while you wait, and although the original seasoning is great some prefer the extra spiciness of the Cajun seasoning. Billy's Seafood has become a permanent item on our gulf vacation agenda. Do be aware that some items (such as crab) are available only certain days of the week, so if there is something in particular that you really want, call ahead. Highly recommend!

From Hwy 59, we had no problem finding Billy's due to good signage. They have everything you would want and then some. They made good recommendations, gave cooking instructions, and were very cheerful! Great Christian business!

My family and I have been going to Billy's during our visits to the Gulf for over 30 years. The quality of the food and service keep getting better. We go at least 2-3 times per visit for daily fresh seafood (our favorites are the shrimp and mahi mahi). We love to try new recipes which are terrific with seafood this fresh. When it is time to return home, the staff pack our cooler for the return trip home and we always arrive with plenty of ice after a 14 hour drive. It is worth the drive from any Orange Beach/Gulf shores location.

We visited Billy's twice during our recent visit. The first time, we ordered 5lbs (for 6 adults) and had them steam the shrimp and add cajun seasoning. I think we paid just over $40. What a steal! We took it back and made ourselves a boil. The second visit was on our way out of town, we stopped and picked up another 5lbs for my dad. The girl packed the shrimp and ice in our cooler and it made it home with no problems! Definitely recommend a trip out to Bon Secour. Neat place. Excellent fresh seafood for extremely reasonable prices. It was definitely the best shrimp we ate our entire trip!
