Walter Jacobs Nature Park has walking trails that reflect the flora and fauna of Northwest Louisiana. There is also an indoor exhibit area with live reptiles.

Great little adventure! The interpretive bldg had everything from feeling snake skin to a live alligator; hands on nature education. Outside there was numerous optional trails and rescued animal exhibit. Very friendly helpful staff!!

The hiking trails are beautiful, the animals are very cool, there are lots of scenic places to enjoy a nice picnic, the staff is so friendly and helpful - it was just a fantastic afternoon in an amazing place! I took my kids, and they had a blast! Bring your bug spray on the trails, though!

I travel to Shreveport regularly to visit my grandkids, and every time I go a visit to Walter B Jacobs is on our agenda. The kids love it! They have an indoor display of Louisiana wildlife, and several injured/rescued animals in outdoor spaces. They also have hiking trails of various lengths. The last time I was there we signed up for a guided wildflower walk with one of their guides. The kids and I had so much fun for days afterwards recognizing and calling out the names of the plants and flowers she taught to us.

I have taken neighborhood children to the park several times. We love hiking in the woods on the many intersecting trails and visiting the deer and birds. The displays inside the building are great. i encourage others to get out and enjoy God's creation in this pleasant setting.
