I imagine this golf course is in magnificent shape during the Summer. Even in December, the greens and fairways were well kept. Challenging layout but lots of risk/reward opportunities. Probably the best course I've played on the Audubon Golf Trail. I'll play it again next time I'm in Lake Charles.

Although it won't help those planning a golf trip, we did use Gray Plantation for our rehearsal dinner and wedding venue. It was absolutely fabulous. The entire staff was great. The food was absolutely amazing (so I guess those that gold and are planning to stop in for a bite can use that but of advice). It is also very reasonably priced.

Very challenging course with great layout and variety of hazards. The course has a very nice eating area to enjoy lunch.

This is one of the best courses in the area, and one of the best deals, too. Like most of Louisiana, it's got pine trees and water everywhere. Several holes challenge you to carry lakes to reach the greens. Be careful as the ball seems to not carry well in the humid bayou air. The greens were top-notch the last time we played there - smooth and fast. Our green fee was about as low as it gets, and range balls were free. Go play it!

Short drive from Lauberge' on the bypass. Well worth playing. Always in great shape, but known mostly by locals and those who play the Audubon Trail. Best course in SW Louisiana

Gray's has become my favorite course in SW Louisiana. The course is always in great shape year round. The GPS is fantastic and the staff has always been courteous.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable round of golf here. The course was in great shape, nicely mowed in all areas, and greens were moderately fast. Not many players on this Wednesday, but that gave us a great experience. Golf shop staff was great to deal with from the time we made a phone reservation, checked in at the shop and got info from the starter. They had a turn house for drinks and snacks as well as a beerage cart on the course. I especially enjoyed the quiet environment, with birds chirpiing and no auto traffic noises nearby. Hole #6 was the signature hole (semi-island) and it was a challange this day with a 10-15 knot headwind. Ate lunch afterwards ...good food and service. Everything was nice. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because the course design was not as well done as championship course, but otherwise all other aspects were a 5.....

This course has a great location near the water. It has fairway bunkers, green side bunkers and average difficulty greens. The fairways are open and there are not many trees. It is well kept and if you enjoy playing golf, you will definitely enjoy the day spent on this course.

I'd heard several say that the course wasn't that great. Maybe that was before they got the rain this summer. Fairways and greens in very good shape. Kind of wet when we played so the rough was deep and easy to lose a ball in the heavy bermuda. Quite a few sand traps and water holes, one almost island green, and several holes that you can "go for it" if you think you are a big hitter. Very nice club house and some good food. Nice lay out with beautiful homes lining fairways. All in all, a pretty good deal for the price.

I played this course 3 times but I wasn't impressed. There are several courses around Lake Charles that are Much Nicer!

Very nice golf course and reasonable rates. The food in the grill is excellent. I always enjoy playing and eating here.

This is a very nice area but the downfall is that there is a lot of wildlife out there. There have been many small animals that have been killed by coyotes and alligators. Although I know that they have removed atleast one alligator, there is an alligator living in a pond on the gold course, right next to homes, and onlyy feet from the sidewalk. There was an incedent when I was strolling my son on the sidewalk and the alligator started moving toward us. His head was above water, and I saw him clearly looking at us. The alligator seemed pretty fearless, and I know that it would qualify as a nuisance alligator. There has also been a report of having to move this alligator from the sidewalk and back into the pond. This is not ok! It just makes me feel like there is not enough being done to protect people living in this area.

My sister had her wedding reception in the clubhouse here. The clubhouse is well done, if a little cramped. I'm not a golfer but the course looks nice. Overall pretty nice, but a bit out of the way from most of Lake Charles.
