We were the only visitors when we toured the museum last spring. The lady at the site, whom we presumed to be a volunteer, was most gracious and knowledgeable. She shared a wealth of facts about the college and the area, including stories of the resident ghost, a victim of the Civil War.The displays deserve a little time; interesting to read documents from the college covering expenses, courses, etc.Surprised, but glad this place has been preserved.

Whether you're interested in women's history, early college life, or the Civil War, the Mansfield Female College Museum has something for everyone. Professional exhibits detail the 70 year history of the college. Hard to find but definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
