My husband and I have been looking for a place to hear some authentic Cajun or Zydeco music. We met a few couples at our RV park and was invited to go watch a jam session on Saturday afternoon. It was excellent. There were several musicians there, that played for hours. We met a few more locals and became quick friends. The bar is very smoking and rough around the edges, but for us that just adds to the local charm. The ladies room is a little weird and scary, it had no lock and two toilets in the middle of the room with no partition (LMBO) but my husband played bodyguard while I had to use it. The beer was cheap, $2 cans $2.50 bottles! I also think they had liquor. The amazing thing was, about a hour before the jam session was over, they pass out meals in Styrofoam containers, to everyone for FREE. We had Chicken & rice with a biscuit and green beans. What a great concept! If we are ever back in the area, we definitely will return.
