They are located on a rice farm across the street from a crawfish farm…you can't get more Cajun than this. David and Emily are so friendly and knowledgeable. If you are looking for other things to do in the area they have great suggestions. Truly a great experience. Buy some crawfish pottery or that perfect mug or set of dishes. You won't be disappointed. My partner and I are both from South Louisiana, and while we have lived in many places around the world, when we’re in our hometown of Lafayette, we always drive out to nearby Wortman Pottery in Duson, Louisiana – just off the I-10 corridor. Until recently, we were working in Japan. Buying gifts at Wortman Pottery and bringing them with us to Tokyo kept up our own tradition, and the Japanese seemed to enjoy seeing fine pottery made outside of Asia. When we first started buying gifts at Wortman Pottery it seems like a lot of it was for our friends’ weddings. Then, with a finger snap, and it was graduation gifts for our friends’ kids and grandkids. Now that we’re living back in Louisiana, we are thrilled to be able to visit the wonderful ceramics gallery at Wortman Pottery more often.
