There is a lot of information here, but the building is very small so there are exhibits everywhere and it made it look a bit too chaotic for me.Entrance is $5 per person and we spent about 30 minutes here.

We drove from Morgan City to visit this museum and were so glad we made the trip. What a great place to view the history of slavery in the area. Great guide and would highly recommend that everyone take the time to stop. Allow time to walk through and hear the stories, view the exhibits, photographs, and a little time to ask questions. It is enlightening and a great stop for adults and kids!

A Great Thank you to Kathie and her volunteers who work so hard to keep this place the most interesting one regarding the Afro American history, with many objects, photographs, manuscripts arts and stories. Really a place to see while you are in Donaldsonville or close. It's nice to visit Plantations but also to see the history of the people who made these possible with their blood and life.This is a museum full of emotion and very interesting. Go there you will be surprised to find such a comprehensive museum in a small town.
