Eilene and Theophile could not have been more gracious hosts. Their staff and lodge are above 5 star. Everybody was friendly and took a personal interest in your experience. Their chefs prepared fantastic meals with a local flair and even made a special trip to the store to accommodate my teenage son. The lodge is great with a game room, numerous flat screens, hot tub, and beautiful gardens. Their boats and seaplanes are second to none. We all caught bull reds in the 30 lb+ class while sight fishing. Theophile took a special interest in my son showing him how to spot fish, see which way they were going and making the proper cast. By the end of the day he was an expert. Theophile is definitely one of the best guides in the business without the prima donna attitude that is common. Everybody there makes you feel like family. If you are looking for a fantastic overall Louisiana experience this is definitely the place for you. Booked my next trip before I left.

Recently went fishing with Capt. Eilene, the trip was a blast. We caught so many fish! Also got to fly in one of their sea planes. They fed us and we stayed in a lovely suite with a lovely view! Definitely recommend that you go!

Four of us went out for Reds and Captain T. Wayne put us on the fish! The action was strong all morning. In addition to great fishing, he was an excellent charter captain with a great attitude. I have fished charters that were "ho-hum"... Captain T. Wayne made sure we had an adventure. I highly recommend Bourgeois Fishing Charters!!

I have fished at Toe's place 4 times and had an enjoyable experience every time.Brought my brother and sister in law and she doesnt fish much and she loved it. Weather was very cold for there and we still managed to catch over 20 reds and a bunch of other fish that day.Food is authentic and rooms are better than you would expect on a fishing trip. Its a fun way to experience the Bayou and Darin and Eileen also were great.I have never used a groupon thing but can tell you that I wouldn't let that influence you one bit.This place has survived all the storms and know how its done.

My friends and I had a great fishing trip and some of the best food in cajun country.The staff treated us like family and cooked like it was a holiday.Being on a diet here is not an option with all the great food being passed around.We left with the sun rising on our day of fishing and was bringing them in the boat as soon as the boat stopped.It was a great day of fishing with some really great guides, who tell as many jokes as we did.Just be ready for some good company and really great people when you stop in.The rooms are very nice and the air is cold and the water is always hot for that evening shower when you get in.Please give my friends a visit and I promise you wont find a better location,people or fishing.

This is, hands down, the best fishing trip ever. We have gone back year after year and it is great each time. The fishing is spectacular and there are no harder working guides than you will find here. They know where the fish are and they put you on them. The accommodations, food, hospitality and experience are great. We have been on many, many fishing trips. Some better than others, NONE better than Bourgeois!

Our fishing club has been fishing at Bourgeois Charters since 2007 and have enjoyed every trip. We drive from Montgomery Alabama every month to six weeks to enjoy the hospitality shown there. We ususally catch fish but when we don't, we still enjoy ourselves because of the great food and fine captains. I believe that this is a great get-a-way trip for relaxing and fishing.

Just got back from a fishing trip with Capt. Nick. He was awesome, this place is awesome. We did a fishing trip and stayed the night. Mrs. Penny cooked the best food I've had in along time, thanks Mrs. Penny for being so great. Capt. and Mrs. Bourgeois are some of the nicest people you will meet. My family felt like family. The accomidations are fresh and new, cleaner than the best hotels you will go to. I listened to Capt. Bourgeois on the radio and could not wait to meet him. If you want to have a great time fishing with friendly people, eating wonderful meals, just go. Thanks guys for a great time! I'll be up in the morning (Saturday) to listen to the fishing reports on the radio. Wish I could show the ice chest full of fish..

We just got home from a whirlwind trip to Louisiana, which included an overnight stay and day of fishing at Bourgeois Charters and the Cajun Vista Inn. We booked this trip months ago and were more than pleased with our experience. As I read over the reviews I was sad to see so many negative ones due to a Groupon issue. Had we bought a Groupon and not been able to use it I would have been angry as well. I do know the gentleman through whom I booked our trip back in November is no longer with Bourgeois. Not sure if he had anything to do with the mix up or the ad being placed as he was our direct contact man back then. When I hadn't heard back from Bourgeois a few days out from our trip I called and was told he was gone and panicked a little, as we had paid in advance. However, all the worry was for naught. Though we didn't get the rooms we were promised we still had lovely accomodations. The food was excellent, though my father, for whom this trip was planned, was disappointed with the meagre breakfast (two small pancakes and bacon), especially since we would be out all day. Once out in the boat sandwiches were provided, as well as drinks. Then, we came back to a hearty late lunch of beans and rice, as well as salad and dessert. Our guide, Darrin, was a lot of fun and very gracious with his time. He made sure we were all happy with our catches and stayed out beyond our scheduled hours to make sure I caught a red fish, which I finally did! He went over and above the call of duty catering to our needs in the boat. We certainly could have baited our own hooks! But I guess that was his job and we appreciated all his efforts. We caught lots and lots of sheepsheads, some black drum, red fish, speckled trout, and catfish. I also caught two unwanted sting rays. All in all this trip surpassed my expectations. In fact, I ate some of the best fish of my life for dinner there, as well as delicious shrimp pasta. The weather cooperated as well, making the entire stay magical. I am sorry the Bourgeois's did not honor their Groupon. That is very disappointing as it gives their review status a far lower rating than I believe they deserve. Not sure what kind of deal it was but I know we paid $350/person for three full meals (plus sandwishes and drinks in the boat), two spacious rooms for one night, seven hours of excellent fishing, and our guide cleaned all the fish to boot and put them on ice for us. We would love to go back someday! Thank you, Bourgeois, for making this trip so special!

I bought the Groupon as a Christmas present for my husband and brother-in-law. When my husband called to schedule the trip last week, he was told that the date requested was available BUT not for Groupon customers. The girl told him that Bourgeois Charters had set aside only a few days for Groupon customers-- this of course was not indicated on the Groupon advertising. As a matter of fact, the coupon does not expire until March. We spoke to Groupon who then reached out to Bourgeois on our behalf. A week later (yesterday), Groupon support told us that Bourgeois charters "would like to follow up with us directly". Today, we got a call from Eileen of Bourgeois Charters briefly telling us the exact same thing as before: Bourgeois Charters will not honor the Groupon because the few days (5 to be exact) they had set aside for Groupon holders had already been filled.This has been quite a hassle for me and even more disappointing for my husband and my brother-in-law. So basically, we never experienced the charter – never had a chance to. Bourgeois Charters refused to honor the Groupon we had purchased.

Booked a fishing trip through GROUPON. My children were excited that I was able to take them on a real fishing trip. Considering our budget GRUPON could make it happen! When I tried to book the trip I was told she had NO open dates for Groupon trips. She said sorry, Get a refund from Groupon. What a let down for the kids.

I had bought a trip for my husband and son for Christmas through Groupon. I was excited to use it but when I started called to schedule the trip, the woman wouldn't schedule it. She said they had such an overwhelming response that I would have to get my money back from Groupon because she couldn't schedule any more trips.I do want to say Groupon refunded me, but I was embarrassed and upset for my son and husband who didn't get their Christmas present.Be very careful when scheduling with them.

Great saltwater fishing, great food and great service. I have fished all over the world and Bourgeois Charter's guides are hands down the best at putting you onto fish. They have the finest boats with the latest technology and high-quality fishing tackle and equipment. I have fished with them throughout the year and they have always put me on fish. Throughout the entire trip there was a cajun chef who served exclusively cajun food....it was outstanding. The atmosphere is just impressive. This trip should be on everyone's bucket list.

I am an Executive Host at a St Louis Casino. Recently we took some of our high roller players to Bourgeois Fishing Charters. I have done a lot of these high roller weekends but I must say this one rates up there with the best of them. My guys were very impressed with the southern hospitality of Theophile and Eilene Bourgeois and the quality of their accomadations and the unbelievable tast of the food that was prepared. The entire staff at Bourgeois Charters deserves a pat on the back. All my high rollers are ready to come back on their own even if the casino doesn't pay their way. We were all taken very good care of and look forward to another trip to New Orleans and Bourgeois Charters.
