Three couples from different areas met in Lewisburg for a getaway last weekend. I knew nothing about Watts Roost Vineyard but found it listed on tripadvisor and decided to call them to see if they would do a private tasting for the 6 of us (the winery is closed this time of year). The owner agreed and we had a lovely gentleman, Ed, for our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wine and the grapes in the area. The afternoon was wonderful! The area was beautiful! We enjoyed a very good bottle of wine on the porch enjoying the beautiful view. What fun!

I'll start by saying I know a bit more about beer than wine and I wasn't sure what to expect from a small winery in WV. I found the winery from a tripadvisor review of Lewisburg. My wife and I were enjoying her 40th birthday and an evening away from the kids. the lady doing the tasting was very knowledgeable about the wines and taught us quite a bit about the varietals and what flavors to expect. we had a great time and bought 4 bottles to share with friends. if you are in the area and considering a visit go now, don't miss out, we were informed that the vineyards and the winery are now finished and when the stock is gone there will be no more.

Thank you for your nice review. Ronnie was doing our tastings that day and she is one of the best . Even I, as an owner, enjoy doing tasting with her. Glad you enjoyed. Barbara T.

My husband and I took a side trip from the Greenbrier Hotel to explore the area, and had a great time at Watts Roost Winery. We liked the peach wine so much we bought 3 bottles to share with our dinner discussion group. (and they liked it too.) Owner is very knowledgeable, offering a wide range of wines to taste.

This was our frist stop in lewisburg and we loved it!After the long seven hour drive this is just what we needed a wine tasting in a beatiful setting! For $3 you get to try 10 types of wine and get to keep the wine glass! We also were given a private tour of the winery and were told about the process and machinery that is used in the wine making process. After teh tasteing we played corn hole on the patio and took some pictures of the barn and grounds.Best stop on our trip!

We arrived in Lewisburg after a very very long, traffic filled drive and we wanted to start our vacation with a wine sampling. The wine sampling hours are listed as Thurs-Aat 1p-6p. We had a hard time finding the location with GPS. So I called and was upset as it was about 10 minutes before six on Saturday, but we made it right before 6pm and then had no problem letting us taste the wines and view the property. We had a great time. The owner were incredibly kind, professional and interesting. Their friendly conversation and great tasting wine, made me forget the hours were spent in traffic in the pouring rain. We had a great time, just wish we could have been there earlier to stay longer. There is a porch outside where people can hang out and relax and have a glass of wine. There are a variety of wines for purchase at reasonable prices and also wine related items in their shop. But again, the service and friendly atmosphere makes it a place you will want to visit.

We visited Frank & Barbara's winery and really enjoyed our tour and tasting! It's located just outside of the city of Lewisburg, WV and is very easy to find. The wine was delicious and very affordable and has won numerous awards in competition. I highly recommend the "Hern's Mill Red" named after the historic covered bridge nearby built in 1884 ( go there too!! ). LIFE IS GOOD! *

Really love Frank and Mr. Beagle (the dog). We were passing through Lewisburg and Sugarbear really enjoys fruit (blueberry, blackberry wines....) did not see any of those varieties at the local stores so we called Frank, and he said he would open up for us.... went out, tasted a new special blackberry wine (highly endorsed by SB), talked about some new wines and some special blends and toured the countryisde. Frank is wonderful to talk to to learn about the local area and the wines just make the day!

Found this winery on our way to UVA, and it was a great experience. The tastings were of at least 7-8 wines-most hybrids and very good! We were about to leave, when the woman working offered to take us back into the production area and to try one of their newest wines that hadn't been bottled yet- "Noir"-we loved it so much she offered to start up the equipment and bottle it for us! Great experience, service and would recommend this to any one in the area or traveling through!

We purchased Watts Roost Vineyard red wines at Tamarak for a "West Virginia Wine Dinner Weekend" at the Elkhorn Inn and found them to be truly excellent- a very happy surprise!

Our trip to this winery was just fabulous. We tasted at least 8 wines, leaving with numerous bottles. The owners, the Tuckwillers are gracious, making the afternoon a true pleasure. They opened the winery specifically for us, accommodating our schedule, making sure that we had a pleasant experience. Loved their alpacas too! If you are visiting the Greenbrier at White Sulphur Springs, make sure you take the short trip to Lewisberg and visit Watts Roost Vineyard.

Friendly couple grow their grapes and make wine right on their charming & peaceful farm property at foot of Muddy Creek Mountain. Beautiful views and a covered bridge just a mile away. Wines are smooth, award-winning, easy to drink. French-hybrid grapes opened new wine experiences.
