Cool old school turned in to a cultural center with lots of arts and local people. A fun visit to shop some of the local rts.

By adding some balance to all the other glowing reviews I don't mean to contradict the folks who love this place. Perhaps I could come to love it. But if you're a casual tourist just dropping by, it's likely to be "meh" unless you really dig browsing in artsy little stores. It would appear that there are many scheduled events here, but during the day it seems to be little more than an indoor arts bazaar, and perhaps a practice venue for performance artists. I did dig the luthier's shop, but mostly because I love woodworking. It's just off Main Street, so if you're strolling Main, by all means, drop by, but keep your expectations in check.

This place is just so wonderful. Probably one of the best spots in Bozeman. Its historic, yet fun and energetic. The food at the grill is always fabulous. And the art is wonderful! Always something going on there. We love it!

I've been to the Emerson several times this month(and again tonight for the Absinthe premiere). It's a tradition! Featuring many of the season's top ski and snowboard films each Fall, the Emerson has been an institution in Bozeman's mountain community for over two decades. I worked the MSP's Days Of My Youth premiere last night and had a blast. Great to catch up with old friends, rejuvenate the winter stoke and cheers to the coming season. The historic Crawford Theater within the Emerson has had a facelift and added many new features including new seating, lighting and a modern AV system. Food and beverages are not allowed in the main theater, but there are ample opportunities within the lobby and walking distance of downtown. I suggest pre partying at your favorite restaurant or watering hole before heading in for the night's festivities.

The Emerson Center is a great facility and scene of weddings, art shows, and tons more--including a great little grill. And now they have one of the largest arrays of solar panels in the state. Emerson is going green...after 100 years.

We have been to many events at the Emerson and feel this old school building is being put to very good use. There is a restaurant, art galleries and class rooms for the arts, a theater and a the old gym is used as a large dining hall or exhibition hall. We have attended many local performances held in the theater, from adult themed shows to family shows with local students preforming. The atmosphere is great and we always sit in the front row if seats are available. There is a smaller room upstairs that they have held more intimate plays in and we have enjoyed them very much. We were just there for the Bozeman Art Walk. All the galleries serve drinks (alcohlic & non) along with finger food. You go through the galleries and see all the local artists and their work, you can pick up their cards for future reference and enjoy the artist explain how they perform their craft. Wonderful to have the artists there. The atmosphere is wonderful and cozy. They have seating in the hall ways so you can sit and relax before going on or just sit and people watch. Love this old building and the work they do to promote the arts!!!!

Galleries, great restaurant, kids running around for arts/dance classes -- what's not to love? Music shows, winter farmer's market every other Saturday as well!

When I'm in Bozeman visiting family, I always stop at the Emerson Cultural Art Center to catch up on what local artists are doing. The works are displayed beautifully. The variety of items means that something you can't live without is affordable. One or another of the artists in the group is on hand, knowledgeable about the work of the others as well as her own.The Center also includes a restaurant (as yet untried), artists' studios, and other offices.

We enjoyed seeing the art and talking with an artist about her work. The outside dining area was so nice, we chose that because we had a toddler with us. The service was excellent and so was the food. My husband had the pork chop which was delicious but huge.

This is a large building, with different rooms. There are works of many different local artists here, and also a restaurant. In one of the halls there is a converted cigarette machine. You can purchase local artwork that comes in the size of a cigarette pack directly from the machine, It's very unique. If you like to purchase local artwork, this is a good place to visit.

Interesting artist community. We arrive late in the afternoon and didn't get to see everything. Nice selection of paintings and crafts for sale by the resident artists. Decent prices.

If you are looking for great art work, from jewelry to paintings to sculptures, look no further than the Emerson. Not only will you find local artists, you will also find a fabulous restaurant - Emerson Grill, winter farmer market every Saturday and many classes to inspire the artist in you! Do not miss the opportunity to stop by the Emerson Cultural Center

We had a great meal, excellent food, wonderful staff, interesting decor. I would definitely return. My friend had the risoto and I had sole draped over hot potato salad. One other guest had a great pizza shaped like a paddle, not your normal round pie. We all left satisfied.

To be clear, my review is for the Emerson Grill, not the cultural center (which was closed at dinner time). The Emerson Grill serves gourmet food in a warm, casual environment. The good could have come from a restaurant in Washington D.C. or San Francisco - it was an unexpected pleasure to find in Bozeman MT!

This was my second visit in ten years. While I visited they had an event happening in the field next door and sponsored a garden tour on the weekend. What a vibrant part of the community!
