We got married at The Great Divide in September and I couldn't be happier! The family who owns the hill went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. They were so accommodating! Not to mention how beautiful it was! Highly recommend that if you are in the Helena area in the winter time to check out this family run ski hill.

Spent a few fun days here. Nothing extreme. Good for newer skiers and boarders. Great location from Helena.

While I've heard that Great Divide has a few rocks, they were covered up this winter! Snowmaking and lights on the lower runs provide a lot of good early season skiing. Great natural powder (on multiple occasions) provided great skiing opportunities on a wide variety of runs, as well as some of the better "tree skiing" I've seen in Montana. Folks are very friendly, rates are very reasonable, and with the exception of the last half-mile or so - roads are excellent. What's not to like?!?

EXCELLENT LOCAL SKI AREA! owners/operators work real hard at giving you the BEST skiing for your money. Snow conditions are what they are, but they've done their best to make it great stuff. Excellent variety of runs...try Wild West. Showdown sucks.

So much area to explore when the snow is there. Always a reasonable deal. Quite often there are teachers on the back yard tow that will give advice to beginners. Weekend powder days when the Wild West chair is open are phenomenal. Powder stashes all day

It has the cheapest rates of any ski resort I have ever been too. The staff is very nice and helpful. There is not enough area indoors to sit and relax. My 10 year old son loves skiing there.

Great because it is close to town...very family friendly. Love the live music and the deck! Gets very icy at times, and is a very short beginner runs...but I'm kind of a sissy....I enjoy my time there weather I am skiing or just hanging out waiting for the kids.

This place is so family friendly! They were great with the kids! All the staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and courteous. By the time we left we knew one gentleman on a first name basis. We were wishing we lived closer so we could go back often. The Yard is free for those who want to practice for the real slopes. The prices get better as the day goes on. Rentals are affordable. They had appropriate gear for our children ages 6 and 2.We never made it out on the slopes. Our children were happy with The Yard. The views are beautiful! We packed a lunch, but there were concessions available.

We live near Great Divide, but don't ski here all that often. Snow cover is iffy. Lower area is mostly terrain parks & beginner runs. There is some good expert terrain in other areas, and when the area gets a big storm, it can be epic. Lift prices are low and owner / operators are dedicated. However in Montana you can definitely find better skiing, at similar prices.

Gread Divide has many intersecting runs and variety of terrain. Wind speeds off the top seem to keep snow from really sticking around. I've heard they have amazing terrain parks.

Enthusiastic, local ski area. Conditions can be variable, but I love having a nearby, hometown ski area

Snow cover can be iffy here. But if you hit it right, and especially if you visit during a weekday, there's plenty of elbow room. Lifts are old style (so be prepared to load quickly, as the chair comes swinging at you pretty fast). But there are no lift lines, and we were all alone on most runs. Make the effort to go over and try the area of the Wild West lift, where there are lots of gladed runs. The facilities at the main lodge are minimal, and food is passable. But hey, for a $40 lift ticket (less than half what you'd pay at overpriced Big Sky) it's worth it.

This hill has terrain for all skill levels. When the powder is deep, adventures abound for the experienced skier.

This a nice inexpensive area to ski. It's close to Helena. They work hard to keep snow on the mountain and it's well-groomed. Varied terrain.
