The folks at Teton pass are 100% real & make you feel welcome. I love the small homey atmosphere. If you were never here you have to try it. My first time here we were handed fresh warm chocolate chip cookies on the ski lift at the bottom & Rocky, a chocolate lab dog was running up & down the slopes with us. Thanx guys for being nice to me & my PA. group of friends!

Went here with my spouse, who is an experienced skier, while I am not. I signed up for a lesson, and the instructors were great. These people are real experts and can really help, even if it is your first time. My husband went to ski the other slopes and he had a great time. Every one was very friendly, and we had lunch in the cafe and it was very good. I highly recommend this place and plan on going back and taking more lessons.

It has been a while since I have been able to ski due to medical problems but the area was very nice when I was there and they have made inprovements since. It is a small area compared to some but it has runs for every skill.

Stopped by one afternoon to check this place out. It wasn't busy at all for a Sunday afternoon (although, it was Superbowl Sunday), no lift lines at all. The staff was very courteous, and they have lots of choices at the cafe. Very cozy atmosphere.

So glad Teton Pass is open for this season. Terrific snow, wonderful views and outstanding food. Very affordable and the accomodation in Choteau is very pleasant. The community is very welcoming of the influx of tourists to this 'destination' resort. Put this one on your bucket list, you simply must visit and enjoy the unspoiled beauty of this part of Montana! The parking is generous and the road is in great shape. There is nice backcountry skiing nearby - see a detailed blog from a local skier (http://outtherewithtom.blogspot.ca/) for backcountry skiing. Not to be missed

Grew up skiing Teton, lots of beginner and intermediate runs for those just starting out, plus some blacks for those more experienced. New owner has done a nice job on the lodge and ticket deals.

Nice affordable place for a family to ski! Very freindly staff and an awesome affordable restaurant. It was a dissapointment it was closed for the 2011-2012 season. Can't wait for it to open up!

A friend and I were going skiing and wanted to try a place we have never been before. We decided to take a flyer on Teton Pass, even though there wasn't much information on the internet about it. We were pleasantly surprised. The snow conditions were amazing for the last week of March, and the hill itself was fun, even if most of the runs were easier than we would have liked. It was quite possibly the most uncrowded ski area I have ever been to; we skied right on to the chair all day, and it often felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The Good: - First and foremost, the scenery is spectacular. Located in the Lewis & Clark National Forest, Teton Pass is nestled in a somewhat isolated valley and visitors are treated to a 360 degree panorama of rugged mountain peaks and that famous Montana sky. Although the mountains here are smaller than they are elsewhere in the Rockies, they are no less beautiful. - The snow is very good as well. I was concerned about the coverage as I had read that Teton didn't get a lot of snow, but the conditions were excellent. We had about 6 inches of fresh snow in the morning, which softened into nice spring corn by the afternoon - and this was the 26th of March! - This would be a great hill for families learning to ski. Most of the hill is fairly gentle and open terrain where beginners and intermediates will feel comfortable. Advanced skiers will find a few more challenging areas, but there aren't many places at Teton Pass where you can really get into trouble.- Teton Pass is an excellent value. Lift tickets in 2010/11 were only $29/day for an adult, and you could get a combo package with a full day lift pass and rentals for only $39. You just can't beat that! The Bad:- Access. Teton Pass is out in the middle of nowhere, and the road access is kind of sketchy. At least half of the 40 miles from Choteau to Teton Pass is gravel, and there are several Texas gates on the road - some in varying states of repair. The road itself is very narrow and winding, and there are a few hairpin turns up near the ski area that could be pretty interesting if the road was icy. We had no trouble making it in a car, but the road is rough. Teton Pass does offer a free shuttle bus service from Choteau to the resort, and it would definitely be worth looking in to if you are concerned about the drive.- Accommodation. Make no mistake about it; Teton Pass is an area for people who want to ski and not much else. There is a rental shop and a nice day lodge at the hill, and that's it. If you need to buy equipment, get it before you go. If you're looking at a multi-day trip and need a hotel room, your only choices are 40 miles away in Choteau. Again, the free shuttle bus alleviates this somewhat but you're still looking at minimum of an hour each way on the bus.- If you are an expert skier looking to be truly challenged, you may get bored pretty quickly at Teton Pass. I found the difficulty ratings at Teton to be pretty generous; many of their black runs would be blues at other resorts, and some of the blues might be greens elsewhere. There are a few challenging runs; Firewater, Cherokee, and Slim Jim were the ones that stood out for me. Unfortunately, they aren't very long. The newer area off the no name platter lift offers some nice glade skiing with the tradeoff of a long traverse to get back to the base of the main chair lift. Teton Pass has plans to put in a new T-bar in 2011 that will reach higher on the mountain and open up some spectacular terrain, much of it more challenging. I would imagine the lift prices will increase accordingly, but from what I could see up there it will be worth it.Teton Pass really is an undiscovered gem. Good snow, good skiing, great scenery - what more can you really ask for? It's not glitzy or high tech, but that's part of it's charm. Teton Pass is a friendly, laid back, fun ski hill that most people will enjoy. If you're looking for scary steep terrain then go somewhere else, but there's enough variety at Teton to keep most people entertained. I know I'll be going back.
