I have had season tickets for three years and plan on doing it again for the 2015 season. Great night out for family, friends or couples. I prefer sitting outside but sometimes Mother Nature doesn't cooperate and they move the play inside. You will pay a bit more than a typical night at the movies, but this is a live play and I have loved every production. Snacks and drinks are available for $1.00. They now serve glasses of wine (about time) and a few select beers.

Stayed here because the camp sites were only $10/night. It's true that the sites are just a grassy area to pitch your tent, not necessarily a fire ring or picnic table at your site, but it was a great central place for us to base our day trips from. I was struck at the quaintness and laid-backness of the outdoor theatre. It is decorated with Kentucky charm, looks like a little town. Actors, campers and staff mingled easily. I agree with the reviews written by Mike E and Alicia N. Colourful, vibrant, professional, laid-back. We loved staying here and if you're a theatre buff and love camping, this place is for you! Most people come for just the dinner theatre, which is a lovely experience. If it rains, they have a nice room inside to accomodate guests.

When family visits we always take them here. It is good, clean family fun. We have eaten there a couple of times and not really enjoyed it. They do local meats and produce but we just don't find it to our taste. You can easily eat elsewhere very comfortably then see the show. It is always a lot of fun. Visitors or not, we go to every show. Season begins June 6 and we have our tickets.

The productions at Pioneer Playhouse are consistently first-rate. Each summer at least one production deals with topics and/or history of interest to Danville, or to Kentucky. The facilities are charming and comfortable. Before each show you can have a lovely supper, be serenaded by live folk music, and stroll around the grounds. Performances are always charged with the energy and enthusiasm of actors who are in love with what they do. Take in a show at Pioneer Playhouse and use that as the centerpiece of a weekend or more in Danville to experience a small town in the throes of a cultural renaissance -- you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I have attended Pioneer Playhouse for the ten years we've lived in Danville. The stadium seating, friendly staff and outdoor air make it a different type of entertainment, and we enjoy something different. Take a sweater because the air usually gets cool even on warm days. The play moves inside in case of rain.

We were there during Irish Fest and saw In Search of Tinker Doyle. Food was good, staff friendly and play hilarious.

Have been there several times and always enjoy the quality of the performance. Staff is very pleasant, and the quaint atmosphere is enjoyable.

This great family owned playhouse has served as a training ground for many actors who went on to become celebrities. My friends and family see several productions there every summer and never come away disappointed.

We live a thirty miles away, but try to go to at least one play a summer. It is still owned by the family who started it. Lee Majors and several other actors have started out here. It is an outdoor theatre and they also have a dinner before the play. They even provide mosquito repellent if needed.'

We were in the area and decided to check out the campground while there. The plays had not started yet, but look like they would be fun to see when they are open for business.

The greats have been here. Some of them got started here. The entire place is recycled from historic town buildings past their prime. If you love live theater , nostalgia and farm to table eats, you will love this place. I will certainly be back next year

An outdoor summer stock theater. Shows run from June to August. The actors are fantastic, sets well done and seamless performances. The decor is very basic but nice (don't expect up scale or you will be disappointed). The dinner, optional, is good but not great. If you enjoy fine dining I would suggest to eat somewhere else and choose the show only option. This is a family run theater and they are so friendly and outgoing. They really make you feel welcome and that they are glad you are there. If weather does not allow for outdoor performances they do move indoors however the outdoor experience is to be preferred. Check out their website for updated pricing and info. Please note that not all show contents are family friendly. Please research the play beforehand as some contain content that is not appropriate for children. The website may not display this info.

They need better parking and they need to update the property a little bit.

A very nice open air theater to go to in the summer

You might be very pleasantly surprised by the professional quality of the cast. The food is not to be searched out.
