it is a very different kind of attraction that i think everyone will enjoy . it was great hearing about the past and what most people call fun today . makes you think of what you're really missing in life .

I've heard about this place through various people & had a perfect time to check it out on New Year's Day. It was a chilly walk outside but it was well worth it if you enjoy odd ball attractions. You can tell the heart his family pours into all the art they make. That what makes it worth it, seeing & talking to the owners the whole time, hearing his plans of future expansion. Plus The Cournal JD Wilkes has a love for this unique place as well & we all know what kind of amazing artist he is! A must see for sure, can't wait to visit again and bring others!!

Very unique place myself and my grandchildren visited this yesterday it is odd and actually Keith the owner makes it all really funny some the young kids didn't understand but they enjoyed running around worth a quick off road trip

We actually drove an hour and change just to check out this hillbilly garden! We were far from being disappointed. Both of the owners are so outgoing and people persons! Hearing about the history of the family and property was something else. If you want to do something fun and different this is the place to go. People who give this place negative reviews obviously can't think outside the box. If everyone and everything in the world was the same, what a burning place this would be. Thank you for a couple hours of fun!

we went there at night and the fireflies were the most beautiful thing we'd ever seen in our life. and the owners were so nice they even fed us dinner. I am so glad we saw this place it changed my life going to have at least 100 characters.

Wow ! If you don't like toys, old roadside attractions, humor or contemporary/folk art : this wacky place is not for you !

My self and daughter s Stopped by Apple Valley a couple summers ago. i am so glad we didn't listen to negitive viewers. My daughters and I really enjoyed the tour and seeing all the hundred of old toys. Many we had forgotten about until we entered the building.. they brought back many happy memories.In the old days my mom never threw anything away. She always made something out of nothing. The Christmas gift I remember the most is one yr my dad was out of work , during WW2and she made me a draw string purse out of an old rain coat with red shoe strings for draw strings. my friends allliked it.she made christmas ornament out of tin can lids(we were saving alum.cans for school to help in the war.she cut them and bent them in diff shapes.We got a big kick out of the tree with shoes. I just saw your interview on Chan. 6 Paducah,Ky Keep adding to your collectionand keep adding smiles to peoples faces those who would never dream of your ideals and will like them.

I'm glad we stopped to experience the tour. He has a great sense of humor. We was there 2 hrs just talking and reminessing. We also made a couple new friends with Keith and Dianna.

Okay...... My family and I were on our way to tour part of old Route 66 in Oklahoma, and headed toward Joplin, Mo. from NC. I had read about this place from (where else?) Tripadvisor.com., and since I'm fond of kind of off-beat, quirky sites, we made a small detour to check this place out.The signs say, "Sorry, We're Open!", which in all likelihood reflects the feelings of the folks who have to live adjacent to Happy Valley, which was once an old gas station and store. The present owner, who was kind enough to show us around, obviously enjoyed his work, which included collecting vintage toys and creating what might be kindly called "Folk art", out of basically every piece of salvaged material he could get his hands on. His rendition of a "Riding lawnmower" was particularly funny, and, if you make it up there, ask about "Jaws". Many of his works incorporate trees, and resemble something out of a nightmare that the author of "The Hobbit" might have had. He also has a building called "Toyland", where inside are crammed pretty much every sort of toy imaginable, jammed together around operating electric trains and strategically placed lights. It's a little tight, but your kids will enjoy it, and you may enjoy seeing some "old friends" from your childhood.Now. I would not suggest traveling across the country to see this, but if you are in the vicinity, just passing through, it's worth a stop. I promise you, you will probably not have seen anything like it before. It's free, altho' donations are welcome, it probably won't be crowded, and it's shady and cool. You may leave shaking your head and saying "Why?", but I believe it is a site that reflects an earlier, simpler time, when a man wasn't afraid to roll up his sleeves, put his back into it, and look a little crazy in front of his neighbors.So enjoy yourselves, take pictures, and happy motoring..... Oh, and , watch out for the "sink holes"

This was the most amazing spur of the moment stop we have ever done. Had a real good time. Keith was so friendly. We laughed with him so much.

What a fun place to stop along our vacation route. I can guarantee you've never seen anything like it. It's well worth your time. Even my teenagers thought it was really neat.The family that owns this is so kind, polite, helpful and informative. It's obvious that they are all really proud of their exhibits. And they should be. It's actually located in Calvert City, but close enough to call it Paducah. If you decide to stop and enjoy your visit, can I suggest giving them a small donation to help them out? They told me they have many more items to share, they just need to to find a space for it all.Just go...you'll be glad you did.

Amazing stop and awesome people! Get ready for an hour long tour of punny art installations and a toy collection that will blow your mind! The couple responsible for this awesome roadside attraction, Keith Holt and Diane Karnes, are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet and their love of life and art is captivating. An absolute must visit if you're near the area!

The Family owned roadside attraction is well worth the quick detour off Interstate 24. The old Gulf Gas Station and Store is filled with many unique antiques. The Gardens will be appreciated by those with a open mind and enjoy a good pun. The Toyland is truly a sight to behold; there are childhood memories in every inch. The Family is very hospitable and each of them exhibit artistic minds.

A little out of the way from Paducah ( 4 miles), and the owner is also "one of a kind". Be sure you interact with him and have the tour. He is very enthusiastic about the history of the property, and the toys that he has collected. A 50 year collection of memorabilia and uniquely displayed. He is a "character" and well worth the short ( 30 Minute) visit.

First: Art is subjective. If you don't understand that, you won't enjoy this. Secondly: Part of the fun and entertainment of this stop is the gentleman who gives the tours. My family and I stopped by for, what we thought was going to be, a quick stop. It turned into a 2-hour, enjoyable visit. We loved our time there and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for the odd/unusual stop to add to their trip.
