We were staying at the Boone Tavern Inn, and decided to stretch our legs with a walk through the college campus. Just lovely. Very well kept. Love the background of this institution, and the crafts that are created by their artisan students are wonderful. Hope to visit again soon.

A beautiful campus that is home to a most unique small liberal college. It has received national recognition for being one of the "best colleges" in many areas. Most notably is it requirement that all students work a minimum of 10 hours per week, for its "green, sustainability and farming programs."

Call ahead to confirm seasonal times to have a Berea student, earning their way through college, walk you around this interesting, historical campus! The information about the buildings and first-hand accounts of the story of Berea leadership and community made this small, beautiful college even more worth your while to experience.Otherwise, do your research first and walk around on your own. There are a few shops and almost all buildings are open to the public so you can explore. If you're in the area, even a quick trip to town is worth it!

I liked the quiet atmosphere. Almost feels like you can sense the art in the air. I also found some great places to take photos.

Very interesting tour of Berea College. The students give the tour and it is free. Everyone was so friendly and eager to entertain and provide information. The students are very proud of their school which is so refreshing to experience. The students all work for the school ten to fifteen hours a week in exchange for tuition. Besides their regular studies they learn to make excellent quality items all the way from fabrics to furniture.

Went to Berea College from 2000-2004. It's a beautiful college, and one that requires getting around via foot or bicycle. If you're on TripAdvisor looking at colleges, know that it's fairly easy to reach via car, although you may not have the ability to keep a car on-campus!

Traveled here for a conference and loved the campus. Facilities were nice and campus well maintained. Only beef was parking was spotty but that isn't unusual when you are a visit on a college campus!

I did the campus tour several years ago and it's well worth while. This is a college where nobody pays tuition, but everyone works at some sort of job on campus or in the hotel.

Took a short tour which included the woodworking and broom making areas at the college. Our student tour guide was very good.

My alma mater. Highly recognized liberal arts college serving a diversity of students from Appalachia, across the USA, & internationally. All students are required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

The college is a quality one - you will find most opinions represented on campus and a wide range of classes, actives, student groups, and social groups to be involved with. The campus is beautiful, well kept and being updated currently. Its worth a visit, worth the application, and if your lucky enough to get in worth the 4 years you spend until graduation. We all complain about many things, mostly to do with our own ambition for the community, but in the end, I am proud to be from Berea College.

Great history and acres and acres of beautiful grounds. Brought home a few goodies created by the students

I just absolutely love my Alma Mater! :-) A wonderful place for anyone seeking personal/intellectual growth.

This school was started as a free college for underpriveldged kids from Appliacha. The students are reqired to do work at various crafts, etc. The student's work is then sold to help defray costs. The grounds and buildings are beautiful and all close to each other. It is located in the foothills of the Appliachians, so the setting is perfect.

We spent 1 hour + walking on this lovely campus. If you're in the area, stop and see the campus and the town--quaint, scenic. Emphasis in the area on arts and crafts of very high quality.
