This state park is lovely, ringed by mountains, and Webb Lake is pretty. The campsites are fairly well spaced---most have some vegetation between them, and some are quite private. The campsites range in size from quite small, suitable only for a tent, to big enough for a fairly large RV. There are no hookups at this park, but there is a dump station. The boat ramp is good, and the beach is nice. The park is very dog friendly, and there is an area where your dog can swim, though they are not allowed on the actual beach (not a problem---most public beaches don't allow dogs on them during the day, and, as I noted, there is an area where dogs are welcome to swim). This is the largest state park in Maine, and the opportunities for outdoor fun are pretty extensive---hiking, biking, swimming, boating, etc. All that being said, I found the park to be very noisy with lots of screaming kids, parents who let their kids scream, and screaming parents themselves. While it quieted down by the designated 10 p.m., both of my camping trips there this summer were made less pleasant by the fact that kids were up and running around, yelling, very early in the morning (long before 7 a.m., which is when "quiet time" ends). In addition, a group of campers continually blocked the road to my campsite by driving large, remote controlled cars up and down the path. Another irritation was that half the showers were shut down in the morning while people waited to use them. Why were they not all available in the busiest time of the day? The park has flush toilets, but it also has vault outhouses, and some of these smelled pretty ripe. At my friends' campsite you could even catch a pretty potent whiff of the one nearest to them when the wind was right. I was at the park during the week, and it was quite busy. I imagine it fills up on weekends. Be sure you go in prepared grocery wise, as there are not really any major food stores close by, though there is a small convenience store which also has take out, as well as an eat in area. All in all, though, this is a nice park, and if you have kids, they will surely enjoy themselves.

The scenery at this state park is exceptional. Swimming is superb, especially for young kids and children. The beach is pretty shallow for 20-30 yards out. You can rent canoes and sea kayaks. The nature center is pretty good. Decent exhibits, though it could use a little refreshing from year to year.Campground is well maintained. Nice camping sites.

Loved the accessibility with small children and older visitors---Everyone can use the trails, and the view is breathtaking!

Quite a hike. Terrain was very rocky, but well worth it once we reached the tower at the top. Beautiful views.

We took our five-year old grandson here for his first camping experience, so we spent only one night here, unfortunately, but it probably won't be our last. The park is located in western Maine and includes a beautiful lake with mountains as a backdrop. We arrived on a Friday morning in August without reservations, but were able to have a choice of campsites. (You can call the day of your arrival to ask about vacancies.) The sites are labeled on their map as small, medium, or large so you can pick what fits your equipment. While there are pit toilets scattered throughout the camping area, there is also a modern bathroom and free hot showers located in each camping section. All were kept very clean and the modern bathrooms even had soap and paper towels in them, while the pit toilets had hand sanitizer. The park has a small sandy swimming beach on the lake, a boat ramp, a nature center (open on weekends), a fun playground for kids, and an amphitheater program on some nights. We definitely recommend this park!

We have been going to this state park for generations. Excellent beach, trails and the staff are very helpful and accomodating. Some lots are not reservable and you can stay up to 14 days on one site. There is a modern bath house/hot showers. You are in the mountains of Western Maine so phone reception is spotty (why would you care??) :-)If you are looking for the rare area that kids can ride the dirt roads alone on bikes, use the excellent playground near the beach and just relax in one of the most pristine settings you'll see - this is it. Plenty of demanding hiking in the region: Tumbledown, Mt. Blue, Cascades, Big Jackson to name a few. Blueberry season now!1

The camp ground is primitive, & it has left the beauty of the woods intact. Mountain views, great walking trails, & a beautiful lake to swim in!

Even though the park is closed for the winter you can park and walk in. Lovely fall scenery, lakeside picinic table make a great lunch spot.

Mount Blue State Park has two major areas to choose from. The first is the beach area which offers camping, swimming, canoe and kayak rentals. This is a perfect place for a family to spend some time. The swimming area has a lifeguard on duty. The second area provides hiking, picnicking, and scenic views. Weld offers several mountain hiking trails. If you are in the area in the winter, look for "Take It Outside", a special day held at the Center Hill park headquarters, during which, families can try snowshoeing, ice skating, cross country skiing or sledding. Local snowmobile club members haul children and their sleds, up the hill and children slide down. Equipment for snowshoeing, x-country skiing and skating are provided to those who need it for that day. There is no cost for "Take It Outside", other than refreshments, if desired. Snowmobilers also use the park for winter recreation throughout the season. Great family fun!

Mount Blue State Park has everything you would want in a gorgeous summer day in Maine. Spacious tenting/camping sights. Bathrooms are very nice - hot showers. Playground for the kids. Beach area w/picnicing, volleyball, areas for football/frisbee, etc. You can kayak or canoe. Great place for a day or a week.

We have climbed up Mount Blue 3 times now and are looking forward to going back. The trail is a challenge, steep in parts. But everyone in our group, from the dog to the 58 year-old enjoyed it. It isn't crowded and the views from the summit are awesome. A great outdoor experience.

This place is hard to find as it's actual location is not the one they give you. But as soon as we arrived it was well worth it. It was a highly organized place with helpful park staff and extraordinarily clean facilities. The camspot otself was nice and big and not too close to anyone elses and had a great sense of privacy yet the night life there was active and social with each sites campfire lit. The secluded feeling of the town of Weld was great as it had a great outdoors feeling. However civilization was still close by in the areas major town of Mexico,Maine. Weld has beautiful scenery when u take a drive on high roads that look down onto the town and it also had an ATV trail that we used and enjoyed. Our trip here was great.
